Dr. Justin Raatz is a native of the midwest. Dr. Raatz received his undergraduate degree from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO. He attended medical school in Des Moines at Des Moines University, College of Podiatric Medicine & Surgery. Dr. Raatz has had many extensive externships including Beth Israel at Harvard in Boston, MA and Yale/New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT. He completed surgical residency through Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO and joined a practice in Western Nebraska. After four and half years in Nebraska, he and his young family decided to return to Iowa to be closer to relatives. He is thrilled to be back in Iowa! Dr. Raatz is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery, member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Raatz has completed advanced training in INBONE, Salto Talaris and Zimmer/Biomet Trabecular metal Total Ankle Replacement, ankle arthroscopy, arthroscopic ankle fusion, ankle ligament and tendon reconstruction following sports injury, external fixation & complex lower limb deformity correction. He has held various leadership/officer positions in private practice experience including, Vice Chief of Staff & Chairman of Surgery Department. In his free time, he chooses to spend time with his family, play a round (or two) of golf and enjoys hunting.
In Summer 2019, Dr. Steven Ostiguy joined East Village Foot & Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Steven Ostiguy was born and raised in Des Moines and is thrilled to return to serve his community. Originally from Johnston, he received his undergraduate degree from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN before attending medical school at Des Moines University, College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He went on to complete an extensive surgical residency program through MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center in Waterloo, IA. While not working, Dr. Ostiguy enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and being outdoors.
During his residency training, Dr. Ostiguy received advanced education training in foot and ankle arthroscopy. He has extensive training in a wide variety of conservative and surgical treatments for ailments of the foot and ankle. His training provided an emphasis on arthroscopic ankle surgery, sports medicine, reconstructive surgery, advanced deformity correction, and trauma. Additionally, he has extensive training in the management of end-stage ankle arthritis with total ankle replacement. He is dedicated to providing patients with the most effective and up to date foot and ankle care.
The practice is thrilled to offer two caring expert foot and ankle physicians to serve patients out of the two Iowa locations; Des Moines & Mason City.
