🌟 Introducing our summer Interns: Meet Laura!

We are so excited to introduce Laura, the third student joining our team this summer!
Laura has just completed her first year in the Veterinary Technician program at Iowa Lakes Community College. She has a passion for small animal medicine and is particularly eager to develop her phlebotomy skills during her time with us.
When she is not hitting the books, Laura loves curling up with a good book or spending quality time with her dog!🐾
We are so happy to have Laura on board and can’t wait to see her grow this summer. Welcome to the team, Laura!

We are excited to welcome Erika to our clinic as one of three student interns joining us this summer!
Erika has just completed her first year at Ellsworth Community College and is passionate about pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. She brings an excitement for both small and large animal medicine, with a special interest in soft tissue surgery. What we admire most? Her eagerness to soak up every learning opportunity that comes her way.
When not studying, Erika channels her creativity through painting and cherishes time spent with her favorite people.
We are beyond excited to see everything she accomplishes this summer. Welcome to the team, Erika! 🐾

We are excited to welcome Jana to our clinic as one of three student interns joining us this summer!
Jana recently completed her first year at Ellsworth Community College, where she is working toward a degree in veterinary medicine. With a passion for both small and large animal medicine, she is eager to build her hands-on experience in animal restraint and patient care throughout her time with us.
Outside of her studies, Jana enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Please join us in giving Jana a warm welcome as she begins this exciting chapter in her veterinary journey. We’re so glad to have her on the team! 👏

Did you know we also do some interventional dentistry?

Some pups, like Butter Bean pictured here with our RVT intern Madi, have an abnormal bite pattern. His lower canines and incisors are digging into the hard palate (the roof of his mouth), keeping his jaw from growing as it should. He's young enough that removing these baby teeth could allow his mouth to grow normally so he will have a normal, healthy bite as an adult! It doesn't always fix all of the issues, as some genetic factors are involved, but he will be more comfortable until we can assess his adult teeth later.

Attention rabbit people!
Have you considered having your lagomorph vaccinated for hemorrhagic disease?

This vaccine has some special considerations, so we don’t always have it available. We have some, and we’re cracking it open on Monday, January 5th.
If your rabbit has not had this vaccine before, it will need to be boostered in 3 weeks.

Introducing Dr. Emily Kraft!

Dr. Kraft is a Clear Lake native who has spent some time experiencing the Great Smoky Mountains but has decided it’s time to come home. She enjoys wellness medicne iand preventative care, and is looking forward to spending more time on exotic animal medicine.
