Finally, I was finishing up the last patient of the day when a mother and son came in both of whom have been long time patients. I treated the mom when she was pregnant with him and he is a sophmore in college now. He brought me a gift to say thank you. I love all my patients but, there are some that hold a special place in my heart and this whole family is one of those.When he graduated from high school I gave him a book. It was a Dr. Seuss book that is given often at graduations "Oh, the Places You Will Go". Now this book wasn't just any book. It was given to each Doctor in my class when we graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic. It had been sitting in my desk drawer for twenty eight years and I felt it was time someone else needed to have it. Okay, you can call me a cheapskate but it meant something special to him. Tonight, he comes in with a box and gives it to me. In it he had made a 3D Dr. Suez picture out of wood from that book. Made my Day!
