SLP Aly Stull + OT Savannah Tennant teamed up for a co-treat session at Glitter and Fade Kid’s Salon and Social Suite ✂️✨

Our session focused on supporting a sensory-friendly haircut experience for our client combining communication strategies with sensory regulation techniques to create a positive, successful outcome. From prepping with visuals and modeling language to incorporating calming supports and movement breaks, this collaboration allowed us to meet our client’s needs every step of the way.

Glitter and Fade Kid’s Salon is truly a delightful haven designed just for kids 🩵 With stylists of varying experience levels and an environment built to make every child feel comfortable, it’s the perfect space to turn what can be a challenging task into a fun and memorable experience!

So grateful for interdisciplinary teamwork and spaces that celebrate every child’s unique needs 💫

We’re excited to share a summer camp opportunity for children with dyslexia! 🌿📚

This unique program is part of Mystic Lake Camp and has been running since 1997. Campers get to enjoy the full camp experience while also spending time each day in a supportive group focused on building understanding of dyslexia, connecting with peers who share similar experiences, and celebrating individual strengths.

Scholarships are available, and all proceeds go directly to Mystic Lake Camp.

Today is Autism Awareness Day 🩷

At Five Lakes Therapy, we are proud to support and celebrate the unique strengths, perspectives, and abilities of autistic individuals. Autism is not something to be “fixed,” it is a different way of experiencing and interacting with the world.

As pediatric occupational and speech therapists, we are passionate about helping children build skills for independence while honoring who they are. Whether it’s supporting sensory processing, emotional regulation, communication, social interaction, or daily living skills, our goal is to empower each child to express themselves and thrive in their own way.

Communication looks different for every child and every form of communication is valid. We are committed to meeting children where they are and helping them find their voice in a way that feels meaningful and authentic to them.

🧠 Use sounds, words, or gestures
🤭 Build confidence expressing wants & needs
💫 Develop early conversation skills

🫧 Try this with bubbles, snacks, or toys:
👧🏼 Observe what interests them
⏳ Wait a few seconds
🗣️ Listen for attempts to communicate
