January is recognized as National Glaucoma Awareness Month in the US.
Glaucoma is a leading cause of irreversible vision loss, often progressing without early symptoms. In fact, many people living with glaucoma are unaware of the disease until vision is already affected – making early detection through comprehensive, dilated eye exams essential.
This month, we join the eye care community in reinforcing the importance of awareness, timely diagnosis, and ongoing clinical vigilance. Protecting vision starts long before symptoms appear.
