You are invited into a sacred space of healing and intercession, for the souls of Black men, for those connected to them, and for the world we all share.

The Father Wound is not only personal, it is ancestral and collective. It is the ache passed down through generations of grief, loss, love, abandonment, silence, desire, absence, joy, devotion, and harm. It lives in the body, in memory, in the myths and stories we carry. It lives in us all, regardless of gender, as a wounded masculine spirit longing to be seen, held, honored, and revitalized.

Healing this wound requires more than insight. It requires presence. Intimacy. The willingness to sit with what hurts and surrender ourselves to a higher healing power. This is what we are inviting you into: a communal act of soul-washing. Of prayer. Of sacred healing. For him, for you, for us.

Through gospel music, embodied prayer, and personal reflection, we will journey together to release grief, honor truth, and make room for medicine.

This ceremony holds space for the full spectrum of feeling that Father’s Day can bring—celebration, sorrow, longing, joy, anger, love, and silence. All of it and all of you is welcome here.

This event is open to all, regardless of gender, who feel called to it.

I am so grateful for this leg of the journey and all those I have connected with. And I'm in eager anticipation about what will continue to unfold in my Surrender.

The world is slowing down, and so are we. At Labors of Love, we’re following the natural flow of the seasons—easing out of harvest and into hibernation.

From December 20, 2024, to January 21, 2025, we’ll be settling into our cozy corners: spending time with family, catching our breath, and dreaming about what’s next. During this time, we’ll be completely offline—no emails, no messages, no social media. Just a little digital hibernation to rest and recharge.

It is our sincere hope that you find, no TAKE, time to lean into rest and ease during this season. Rest isn’t just important; it’s ESSENTIAL!

Listen, I'm not suggesting we don't do "good" things. I am, however, suggesting that we seek to live so authentically that when our values and authentic responses aren't aligned - we start there. Doing good can lull us into a false sense of self that prevents us from exploring ourselves more deeply.

For if we know ourselves to BE our values, we don't have to perform them AND we can trust ourSELVES, discernment, and intuition.

I came to know of Nikki Giovanni in 2020 (much thanks to ), much the late bloomer compared to many other Black women leaving tribute today. I came to feel in personal relationship with her in 2022 (pictured). Her authenticity was so genuinely authentic. Her humor and boldness - awe inspiring. I consider myself honored to have basked in her magnificent light - and have been ever-so determined to never dim mine again. Rest well, safely in the land of the ancestors.
