At our last meeting, as Dr. Matt Saffarian was traveling with the Michigan State Spartans men's basketball in Washington, D.C., Peter D. made a quick pivot and introduced Chris Munden, the new co-owner of Ware's Pharmacy alongside his wife, Mindy. Chris and Mindy met while working at a Meijer pharmacy, married in 2000, and later worked at an independent pharmacy in Jackson. About ten years ago, they purchased Hemmingsen’s Pharmacy in Marshall. Established in 1847, it holds the distinction of being the oldest pharmacy in continuous operation in Michigan. When the opportunity came to acquire another location, Mason and Wares Pharmacy stood out as a natural fit. Chris and Mindy officially took ownership on February 1. They plan to keep the name and existing staff, while making a few updates, including new carpeting and offering free delivery within 15 miles of Mason.
