On this sunny day, Nancy, Sally, Future, Ruth, and Bridget spent time in the Memory Care garden they’ve been lovingly nurturing 🌸. Surrounded by flowers, butterflies, and laughter, they took a moment to soak it all in—and smile for a photo that perfectly captures the joy of their efforts.

Erin, one of our E&P coordinators, led a step-by-step painting class inspired by Van Gogh’s Starry Night. Residents painted on stretched canvas while Erin demonstrated Van Gogh’s signature choppy brush strokes. 🌟 As you can see, the ladies quickly picked it up and created stunning works of art!

Scenic views, sweet treats, and even sweeter company 🍦💜

Our Memory Care neighborhood took a scenic ride through Cincinnati and made a special stop at a local favorite—Graeter’s Ice Cream! Alvalee, Kathy M, and Kathy A were first to snap a picture at the door, with Marybeth, David, and Nancy quickly joining in.
True to form, David played the gentleman—holding the door on the way in and later the umbrella when rain surprised us.

Flavors of the day included chocolate, vanilla, and even a chocolate-dipped cone, but the best part was the laughter, conversation, and shared moments in between bites.

🎨 What if a painted umbrella could raise Alzheimer’s awareness? It can — and it is.

The competition is a creative social media campaign led by Spectrum Retirement senior living communities in support of Alzheimer's Association. Each community designed a hand-painted Artbrella to honor those impacted by Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Mason Assisted Living & Memory Care is proudly representing our region with an Artbrella inspired by Barb Derosia, one of our incredible residents. Barb may be blind, but that didn’t stop her from leading this design with heart and determination.

Her vision? A tribute to everything that goes into the fight for a cure — the doctors, scientists, medication, and the emotional toll Alzheimer’s takes on the brain. Barb guided our Entertainment & Programming Coordinator using only touch, telling her what to draw and where. When it came time to paint, they worked hand-over-hand — and Barb brought her umbrella to life.

Our residents were so inspired by her story and spirit, they voted to have Barb’s Artbrella represent our community.

With your help, we could win our bracket and advance to the Final Four for a shot at national recognition.

Amy, Marie, Dee, and Cathy stepped into the art studio to begin their latest masterpiece—a beautiful painting from the perspective of looking up into the trees.

Amy added delicate birds to her sky. Marie crumpled paper to craft texture in her treetops. Mary strategically layered every branch, while Dee focused on making her tree trunks just right.

It’s more than painting—it’s a window into imagination.

Mondays are made for baking—and a little elbow grease! 🍪💪

Every week, our Assisted Living residents gather for Baking with Karen, where we try a new dessert recipe and share stories (and sweet treats!).

This week’s star: soft, chewy peanut butter cookies. Tory measured, Dee mixed, Barb gave it that perfect finishing stir—and we all enjoyed the delicious results.

Just another way we make Mondays extra meaningful.
