If your child has been a little extra lately… this might help.
Here in Cincinnati, March weather keeps everyone guessing.
One day it feels like spring.
Two days later we’re digging coats back out.
And while adults find it annoying, kids’ nervous systems are working overtime.
Rapid temperature and pressure changes require adaptation.
For a well-regulated nervous system, that’s manageable.
But if your child’s system is already under stress—from growth, school, sports, sensory input, or just daily life—those weather swings can push it over the edge.
Instead of saying,
“They’re just being difficult,”
try asking,
“Is their nervous system overloaded?”
Because kids rarely say,
“I’m dysregulated.”
They show you through:
• Sleep struggles
• Mood swings
• Clinginess
• Tension
• More frequent illness
Their body isn’t misbehaving.
It’s adapting the best it can.
Our goal isn’t to chase every symptom that pops up.
It’s to help the nervous system regulate better so their body can handle change—whether that’s weather, stress, growth spurts, or everyday life.
If your child has felt “off” this March, you’re not alone.
And you’re not crazy for noticing.
