Everyone Covenant House International
In Honor of Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week
And My Sleep Out Experience with Covenant House – November 20, 2025
On Thursday, November 20, 2025, I participated in the Covenant House Sleep Out—an experience that touched my spirit, strengthened my voice, and deepened my commitment to standing up for the thousands of young people who face homelessness every day.
That night, I chose to give up my bed so a young person didn’t have to. I laid my head on cold concrete not because I was forced to, but because I wanted to stand in solidarity with youth who have no safe place to call home. The cold air, the noise, the discomfort—those few hours reminded me that for too many children, teens, and young adults, this is not a one-night sacrifice, but a daily reality.
As someone who advocates for homelessness and food insecurities as a whole, I carry this work in my heart. I know what it feels like to struggle, to hunger for stability, to long for safety. That is why I am passionate about standing up for them all—every child, every family, every individual who has been left out, locked out, or overlooked.
No one should ever have to choose between a meal and a place to sleep. No one should be invisible. No one should be forgotten.
This week is Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, and I want to use my platform, my voice, and my purpose to shine a light on the realities that millions face every single day.

THE REALITY OF HUNGER & HOMELESSNESS IN AMERICA
Over 580,000 people in the U.S. experience homelessness on any given night.
More than 34 million people struggle with food insecurity.
Youth homelessness continues to grow—LGBTQ+ youth, foster youth, and young adults aging out of care remain the most vulnerable.
Families with children make up nearly one-third of the homeless population.
Many individuals experiencing homelessness are working—yet still cannot afford housing.
These are not just statistics. These are human beings, with names, stories, dreams, and potential.

WHY THIS MATTERS TO ME
Homelessness is not just a condition—it is a crisis that touches every community.
Food insecurity is not just lack of food—it is lack of dignity, stability, and hope.
As someone who advocates for healing, empowerment, and justice—especially for youth and underserved communities—I refuse to look away. I refuse to be silent.
My mission is simple:
To lift voices.
To build awareness.
To support solutions.
To help end hunger and homelessness for good.

A MESSAGE OF HOPE
My Sleep Out wasn’t just an event—it was a declaration.
A declaration that I will continue to speak up.
A declaration that I will continue to fight for justice.
A declaration that I will continue to stand in the gap for those who need love, protection, and compassion.
I advocate for homelessness and food insecurity on all levels—because every life matters, every voice matters, and every person deserves the chance to thrive.
May we continue to move with purpose, compassion, and unwavering commitment until hunger is no more… and homelessness is no longer a sentence, but a battle we have won.
I will continue to stand, speak, and advocate for those who cannot.
This is my mission. This is my heart. This is my purpose.
