Today we celebrate the women who lead with strength, humility, and unwavering faith. 🤍

At Sharon Klein Counseling, I have the privilege of working alongside a group of empowered, hardworking, Christ-centered women who show up daily - for their families, their careers, their communities, and their healing.

These are women who are doing the deep work.
Women who choose growth over comfort.
Women who pursue wholeness, not perfection.
Women who anchor themselves in truth and grace.

It is an honor to create a space where faith and mental health meet - where women are reminded that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved by God.

To every woman walking boldly in her calling while tending to her heart along the way. today we celebrate you.

Happy Women’s Day.

March is a good time to pause and ask yourself a simple question…
What do I need right now? 🤍

Not what you’ve been pushing through.
Not what everyone else needs from you.
But what you need in this season.
Rest?
Clarity?
Support?
Boundaries?
Space to process?

You’re allowed to take an honest look at where you are - and respond with care instead of pressure.

“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” - Matthew 11:28

Strong marriages aren’t built on perfect communication - they’re built on communication rooted in faith.

In every marriage, there will be moments of misunderstanding, tension, and hard conversations. What matters most isn’t avoiding conflict, but how you move through it together. Scripture reminds us to be “quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry” (James 1:19), and that principle alone can transform the tone of a difficult discussion.

A few faith-based reminders for healthier communication in marriage:
• Begin with prayer before addressing a hard topic
• Listen to understand your spouse’s heart, not just their words
• Speak truth with gentleness and respect
• Avoid keeping score - choose forgiveness instead
• Remember that you are partners, not opponents

When Christ is at the center of your marriage, communication becomes more than a skill - it becomes an act of worship, humility, and love.

If you and your spouse are struggling to communicate well, you don’t have to navigate it alone. With guidance, prayer, and intentional practice, healthy communication is possible.

God’s presence in grief 🤍

Grief can feel lonely, heavy, and disorienting - like the world has moved on while your heart is still standing still. In those moments, it’s easy to wonder where God is and whether He sees the depth of your pain.

But Scripture reminds us that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. God does not rush your healing or minimize your sorrow. He sits with you in the quiet, holds your tears, and walks with you through every wave of loss.

You are not grieving alone. Even when words fall short and prayers feel impossible, His presence remains steady, gentle, and near. And in time, He brings comfort, strength, and hope - one breath, one step, one day at a time.

Praying vs. processing - why both matter 🤍

Prayer is a powerful place to begin. It invites God into our pain, our fears, our questions, and our hope for healing. Through prayer, we surrender what we’re carrying and remember that we are never walking alone.

Prayer doesn’t replace the need to process. God designed our minds and emotions with intention, and part of healing is learning to understand what we’re feeling, where it comes from, and how it’s shaping our lives and relationships. Processing allows us to name our wounds, recognize patterns, and gently work through the stories that still hold weight in our hearts.

Prayer connects us to God’s presence. Processing helps us partner with the work He is doing within us. When we allow both faith and reflection, surrender and insight - we create space for deeper, lasting healing.

Meet Your Counselor | Samantha

Reaching out for help is a meaningful and courageous step. I’m a licensed clinical social worker in the state of New York with a Master’s degree in Social Work from Bryn Mawr College, and I’m part of a dedicated team committed to creating a safe, supportive space for healing.

My clinical approach is trauma-responsive and strengths-based, with a particular focus on relational trauma and attachment. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and EMDR. I also have specialized training in adoption, foster care, and developmental trauma, and offer faith-based counseling when requested.

My goal as your counselor is to build a trusting relationship, offer practical tools and insight, and walk alongside you with hope as you pursue growth and healing. I currently provide personalized counseling and psychotherapy through secure virtual sessions.

As we settle into a new year, we do so prayerfully - with hope, humility, and trust in God’s faithfulness.

The start of a new year often brings reflection, fresh intentions, and quiet questions about what’s next. At Sharon Klein Counseling, we believe this season is an invitation to pause, seek wisdom, and allow God to meet us right where we are - not where we think we should be.

Whether you’re carrying gratitude, grief, uncertainty, or hope, you don’t have to walk into this year alone. We are honored to provide a space rooted in faith, truth, and compassion, where healing and growth are guided by both clinical care and biblical truth.

Here’s to a year of renewal, grace, and steady steps forward - one conversation, one prayer, one moment at a time.

As we look back on 2025, our hearts are full. 🤍

This year has been marked by growth, healing, and the quiet, powerful work that happens when people show up bravely for themselves.

It has been an honor to witness the progress our clients have made - steps toward wholeness, restored hope, healthier relationships, and deeper understanding. Watching this transformation unfold is deeply meaningful and reminds us why this work matters so much.
To our clients and community: thank you for trusting us with your stories and your hearts. It is a privilege to walk alongside you.

As we step into 2026, we do so prayerfully - seeking wisdom, guidance, and compassion for the year ahead. We look forward to those we will have the opportunity to work with, support, and pray over in the coming year.

Grateful for what has been, and hopeful for what’s to come. ✨

As we welcome winter, we also acknowledge that for many, this season brings more than just cold weather. ❄️ Shorter days and longer nights can make it harder to find motivation, joy, or energy - and that’s okay.

If you’re feeling the weight of seasonal depression, know that you’re not alone. Here are a few ways to care for yourself this season:

☀️ Spend time in natural light whenever possible
💬 Stay connected to people who lift you up
🧘‍♀️ Prioritize movement and rest in equal measure
📆 Create small routines that bring structure and comfort

Our goal as therapists is to offer practical tools and real support - so you can navigate this season with hope, balance, and compassion for yourself.

🍂 October is here, and for many, this is when anticipatory seasonal depression can start to creep in. The days get shorter, routines shift, and our bodies and minds begin preparing for the darker, colder months ahead.

✨ A few ways to support your mental health right now:

Soak up the daylight: Get outside during peak sun hours to help regulate mood and energy.
Move your body: Gentle exercise - like walking, stretching, or yoga can help reduce tension and boost endorphins.
Stay connected: Reach out to friends, join a group, or make space for community - even when you feel tempted to isolate.
Check in with yourself: Journaling or talking with a counselor can help you notice patterns and create strategies before symptoms deepen.

Remember, preparing for the season ahead is an act of care. You’re not alone in feeling this shift, and support is always available. 💛

Our Story

On the outside you look like you have it all together, but you are tired of pretending everything is great. Don’t get me wrong, some areas of your life may be going well, but you long for something more. Something is missing. And you are not even sure what that “something” is. Maybe your faith has always been a part of your life but at this point you are wondering how it all fits together. It may be a source of strength, but it still doesn’t bring you the comfort it once did. Or maybe you are questioning your faith all together.

You have tried reading some blogs or self-help books but that is not cutting it. Your friends suggest finding a therapist. But you are wondering if that is really necessary. How can a stranger help me with my stuff?

Experiencing adversity is a part of life, it is not a sign of failure. In fact, it is often in our pain that we discover a strength that we did not know we possess. But you don’t have to face it alone. I have the privilege of working with dynamic individuals whose strength and resolve shines through in the mist of some tremendously difficult circumstances. Sometimes it’s memories from the past that we never fully dealt with. Sometimes it’s insecurity, health issues, relationship challenges, loss, or the fear of the unknown. Sometimes it’s just feeling stuck. Seeking the support of a therapist during this time, can give you the tools you need to move through these challenges and help you discover meaning, direction and purpose.
