It’s Myopia Awareness week: myopia or nearsightedness, is when the eye grows too long and too fast making distance vision blurry. So what can you do to help your child if they are myopic? Put screens down and get outside! Spending at least 13 hours per week (just under 2 hours per day) outdoors has been shown to reduce the likelihood of children becoming myopic, across multiple research studies. Next, schedule yearly appointments with our eye doctors to see if certain myopia control treatments are right for your child.

Optometric Technician
An Eye to the Future is looking for an optometric technician to join our team. We are seeking a professional and energetic candidate with strong interpersonal and communication skills who understands the importance of exceptional patient care. Candidates must be exceptionally friendly, motivated to learn and enjoy working with patients. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: a variety of patient care tasks, including preparation of patients to be seen by doctor, performance of diagnostic tests, and obtaining appropriate documentation. Additionally, other general office duties as assigned. Experience preferred, but not required, as we will train the right candidate. Must be available to work Saturday mornings until 1pm. It was a bittersweet day yesterday as we wished a happy retirement and big congratulations to our tech Gabby! It has been an amazing 15+ years having her with us, and we are sad to be losing such a valuable asset to our practice, and a member of our work family. But, we are excited for her to enjoy her well deserved retirement! Gabby, don’t forget about us while you’re enjoying sunny Florida, we will miss you! 🎉 🥳 🏝️
