Taking the Pain Out of Sitting
"SITTING IS THE NEW SMOKING" You've heard the phrase, now HERE'S SOME HELP.
All that sitting contributes to low back pain and poor movemnt patterns that cause injury. Keep the hip flexors loose and stretched to stop the pain.
EASY STRETCH TO TAKE THE PAIN OUT OF SITTING
1) On one knee; nice and tall with knee under shoulder and arm straight overhead; opposite foot just in front of knee.
2) lunge / lean forward with the whole torso and hips; keep the back straight; reach high.The stretch is felt along the upper thigh, front of hip and lower stomach. Hold 5-10 sec. and repeat a few times.
3) for additional stretch: carefully add a slight lean away from the weight bearing knee.
