πŸŽ‰ White Cane Day Walk/Event at the Sacramento VA Medical Center πŸŽ‰

We were thrilled to see over 22 Veterans and 14 caregivers join us at the Sacramento VA for our White Cane Day Walk and luncheon last Tuesday!

Our blind and low vision Veterans felt the love and support from everyone, benefiting greatly from the resources and interactions with our amazing staff.

White Cane Day is all about celebrating the achievements of those who are blind or visually impaired and recognizing the white cane as a symbol of independence.

Events like this help our Veterans feel less isolated and provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with others who understand their journey.

Thank you to everyone for your support and participation. Our Veterans and the blind rehab team sincerely appreciate it.

πŸ“’ Join VA Northern California in Raising Breast Cancer Awareness! πŸŽ—οΈ

This coming Friday, and every Friday for the rest of the month, we invite everyone to wear pink in solidarity with those affected by breast cancer. πŸ’•

Did you know that nearly 380,000 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2025? Early detection saves lives, and with advancements in early detection methods and support, survival rates are improving significantly.

When breast cancer is detected in its earliest, localized stages, the 5-year relative survival rate is an astonishing 99%! 🌟

Let's take action together for early detection and support for all. Your participation can make a difference!

We had a fantastic time attending the Sacramento Stand Down!πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

It was great to see so many Veterans come together and take advantage of the valuable services offered, including housing assistance, medical and dental care, employment resources, legal aid, and much more.

Huge thanks to everyone who participated and made this event a success! We look forward to continuing to support our Veteran community.

πŸ‚ October is here, but we’d like to take a moment to recap the significance of Su***de Prevention Month that we honored in September.

At VA NorCal, we hosted a Su***de Prevention Resource Fair and a 1.5-mile walk, which saw the participation of over 130 individuals.

This event was designed to raise awareness and ensure that Veterans and their families have access to the vital resources they need. Let's continue to support and provide resources to our Veterans every day of the year.
