I recently talked with a male client who came to me feeling completely off. He had been struggling with low mood, mood swings, deep fatigue, struggling to get out of bed, digestive issues, and a noticeable drop in stamina when working.
He chose to run a hormone panel, and one thing stood out clearly: his cortisol rhythm showed a very low, blunted pattern.
There is SO much information out there about cortisol right now. Maybe you’ve seen the “may you be blessed with low cortisol” trend. However too low of cortisol levels can be just as debilitating as too high.
Cortisol isn’t “the enemy”. It is a vital hormone that helps regulate energy, resilience, and our daily rhythm. Ideally, it rises in the morning to help us wake up and then gradually tapers throughout the day. When that rhythm is disrupted, your whole body can feel it.
This is something I see more often than you might think. Especially in people who have been running on stress, pressure, or burnout for a long time.
Through targeted herbal support, lifestyle shifts, and nervous system care, he is working to gently support his body again. This means focusing on restoration, not just stimulation.
If you’re feeling constantly exhausted but wired, struggling with mood, or feeling like your body just isn’t “bouncing back,” it might be worth looking deeper at your stress response patterns.
Your body isn’t failing you. It is communicating.
