The Mathis Junior Golf Association held their Annual Jr Golf Tournament this morning at the Alice Municipal Golf Course. With 58 registrants and 43 competing this morning, it was a great morning for family and fun golf. This was our 20th summer, and it was once again a great success. Thank you Jay Garcia, Golf Pro at Alice Golf Course for allowing us to host our Jr Golf Tournament.

MJGA would like to thank all the coaches that helped during the month of June and monitor at the tournament, Brandon Medrano, Joseph Medrano, Ruben Cowboy Medrano, Alyah Olivarez, Dominic Padron, and Eric Figueroa.

We would also like to thank the following who helped monitor our groups. They were Coach Gutierrez, August Garcia, Coach Luna, Coach Benevidez, Rito Acuna, Julissa Medrano, Ava Medrano, and several parents that helped their children. Thank you.

Junior Golfers, Tournament Time!!

Please look at the flyer. Please arrive by 7:30, no later than 8:00. We will go over some general rules and expectations.

A table will be set up outside where you can pay your tournament fees and will need each participant to put their name on a ticket for prize drawings.

You will get your pairings in the morning when we call all to the pavilion. We will not have enough coaches to help per group so we might ask for help. We will have score cards for all group ages.

Reminder, kids playing 5 holes will be charged $5, kids ages 12-13, and high school playing 6 or more holes will pay $13.

Golf carts will be paid for inside.

Everyone will start at the same time from their perspective holes. We hope to start no later than 8:15. Any questions , please let me know. Rain is expected around 12 noon. We should be done by 1045 to 11 am. - Coach Medrano

Attention Jr Golfers!!

Parents, we will be handing out the goody bags this afternoon. If you are not able to make practice today, let us know so we can make sure your child gets it. Please let us know if you have any questions and let us know if your child will NOT be participating on Monday.

Short practice if possible. Please let us know if you still need golf clubs.

If you paid and can only make tournament due to All Stars, that is fine.

Attention Jr Golfers!!!

Due to the expected rain later this week, we want to make sure we have 2 practices so we have decided to have practice again tomorrow instead of Thursday.
It will be at the Municipal Golf Course in Alice 5:30-7pm.
We are enjoying our practices!! Thank you all that have been in attendance! Hope to see you tomorrow!!

Good evening everyone! It seems there is a mistake on our flyer regarding practice dates.

We will only practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The flyer says Monday but that is incorrect!

Thank you to those that reached out questioning the date!! We appreciate your understanding and apologize for the mistake!

Also, please message us if your child is still needing a set of clubs. We can plan to meet tomorrow to get them taken care of!
