Booker was thrilled to go on vacation. No vest needed in the middle of no where. Just enjoying some time with his boy and the rest of his family. He was overjoyed to find all the pinecones (his favorite thing besides Braxton) when we hiked Aubrey Falls. Something he doesn’t get a ton of since leaving Idaho- nothing compares to the giant pinecones in Idaho 😉

Booker always amazes me with his ability to do his job. While Braxton was at lacrosse practice earlier, Booker was home with me. I was in my bedroom, with the windows open and the wind blowing in from the west. The field is about a half a mile from the house if you could go in a straight path from home to the field. Booker all of a sudden got up and started aggressively alerting me and it took me a minute to realize why, and that he could possibly pick up on his scent with the windows open and the wind blowing in the right direction. Sure enough, I check dexcom and he was almost 300!

Thank you to those who reached out. Thankfully he didn’t make it far and made it to our neighbors house and visited with them for a bit. This was our first scare like this, and again we are so thankful for a community who helps us look out for our boys😉🥰

It has been brought to our attention that some people are under the impression that Booker does not attend school with Braxton anymore, or maybe isn’t with him throughout the day at school- so I just want to clear that up for everyone. Booker attends school with Braxton regularly every week, with one day off per week, because a service dog can also be a lot of work and we still want him to be able to just be a teenager some days- but even on those days, sometimes I get a text from Brax, asking me to bring him because he misses him. Last week Booker missed the first half of the week due to some stomach issues- we gave probiotics and got him feeling better, but when he’s sick, he can not be at school. We don’t want him to have an accident at school, and we want him to rest up so he can feel better and be at his best for the both of them. Also- there is no crate at the school for Booker, so he is with Braxton all day. That may change next semester when he has weight training, but for now, Booker attends all classes.

He is doing a phenomenal job with alerting at school(and home), and has been a great support for Braxton. We are still so incredibly grateful to God, and our community for the love and support- and for making this possible for him. And I know you guys don’t get to hear it like we do, but he says all the time how happy he is to have Booker. He’s the sweetest boy, and so amazing at his job. And mom gets to sleep at night again knowing that Booker has our back 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
