👁️💙 I absolutely love caring for my pediatric patients — and even more, I care deeply about protecting their vision. Helping kids see their best and thrive is one of my greatest passions!

I’m so excited to announce that the Essilor Stellest® lens is now FDA-approved — the first spectacle lens cleared to help slow down the progression of myopia in children. Unlike regular glasses that only focus light to correct vision, Stellest uses a blend of a central clear-vision zone plus surrounding tiny aspheric “lenslets” (using H.A.L.T. technology) to create a gentle “myopic defocus” signal. It’s designed to correct nearsightedness and slow its worsening over time (studies show around a 60-70% reduction in progression when worn consistently).

This new lens gives us another powerful tool in the fight against pediatric myopia (nearsightedness) — and I can’t wait to offer it as an option for families in my practice.

Myopia is no small issue — it’s an epidemic that continues to grow, especially with our kids spending so much time on screens. It’s a conversation every parent and teacher should be having now, not later.
