Let’s Talk Recovery

For most people these products are completely unnecessary.

When you workout/exercise of any kind, many people believe they need to enhance their body’s natural recovery mechanisms with cold plunge, sauna, or recovery drinks and many believe they need tools like Whoop or Apple Watch to gauge their body’s data to gauge recovery.
�What do you actually need to recover properly?

1. 🥩 Adequate Protein
2. 🚰 Water, with minimal salt for electrolyte replenish
3. 🍠 Healthy Carbohydrates, to replenish muscle glycogen
4. 😴 Rest!

Overcomplicating this list will lead you to believe that your body doesn’t know how to recover correctly without your help. For most people, exercise intensity does not reach high enough levels for any intervention to be necessary (TRUE STORY). There are very few people who workout intensely enough for modification of these simple recovery guidelines.
�Stop spending thousands of💰💰on recovery tools, when you really need to spend about $10 on a healthy meal and get to bed at a reasonable time.

Being healthy (if you just listened to fitness experts) seems like it must consist of waking up at 5 am to your protein shake and 45 minute workout.

For most people, a healthy lifestyle should start with a 15 minute walk in your neighborhood. Get sunshine. Breathe fresh air. When you perform one simple healthy habit, it is much easier to do a second and then a third.

Stop trying to pick up someone’s 100th health habit and make that your starting point. Start simple and grow into what makes sense for your health goals.

What is Chiropractic care at Prototype Health?
