👶✨ Primary vs Secondary Curves ✨👶
Your baby’s spine develops in stages—starting with the primary curves (thoracic & sacral) from the womb, and then the secondary curves (cervical & lumbar) as they play, move, and grow.
➡️ Tummy time builds the first secondary curve (cervical) as your baby lifts their head.
➡️ Crawling, sitting, and walking form the second secondary curve (lumbar).
🌱 That’s why movement and floor play are so important. When babies spend too much time in containers—like car seats, swings, jumpers, and bouncers—their natural curves don’t get a chance to develop properly. This can lead to:
🌀 Delayed milestones (rolling, crawling, walking)
🌀 Restricted spinal motion
🌀 Added stress on the nervous system
🌀 Poor posture and weaker core strength
💚 Chiropractic care helps ensure that as your baby grows and moves, their spine stays clear of misalignments that can interfere with nerve function and development.
At MCH Chiropractic & Nutrition, we encourage parents to let their babies play freely on the floor and get checked early—so their spines and nervous systems can thrive the way God designed them to.
