Sugar is the #1 food problem affecting most Americans from achieving and maintaining good health.

Many of my patients who quit eating sugar subconsciously tend to eat higher amounts of carbohydrates, not realizing that their carbs are converted into sugar- trading one form of sugar for another.

It comes as no surprise to me that low carb is a better way of eating for health than the DASH diet.

The side plank/side bridge.

Great for strengthening the Quadratus Lumborum(QL), a thick muscle that starts at the Posterior Iliac Crest(hip) and attaches to the 12th rib. This muscle helps maintain stability along the lower spine/lumbar region and pelvis.

We add this exercise to improve stability in conjunction with the 'core' muscles to help maintain a healthy back.
