UPDATED DOPP SITES FOR SHELBY COUNTY!!

Here are all the locations in Shelby County that have Narcan available. It is free to pick up Narcan at any of these locations.

Narcan (Naloxone) is a nasal spray that can save anyone from opioid overdose. Below shows more information on signs of opioid overdose and how to use the Narcan spray. *Narcan will not harm anyone if taken on its own, it only helps save someone's life from opioid overdose. *

The types of opioids are below as well. This shows us that it isn't just a stigma; that people who overdose can be anyone, anyone who takes a prescription of the below substances.

A neighbor, sister, friend, grandma... anyone. These sites are for everyone! 🩷

Please reach out to use if you or anyone you know is needing resources for getting the help they may need. We're here for you. ✨ We also offer Narcan trainings for anyone in Shelby County.

Below is a testimony from a community member who found recovery in one of the local AA meetings.

"As a healthcare professional, I have made a career of helping others. As an alcoholic, I found i couldn't even help myself. Today I am grateful for my alcoholism, without it I wouldn't have discovered the life changing 12 step recovery program that offered me a way out and a much better new way of living."

Below is a testimony from someone close to Shelby County who has experienced the depths of Substance Use Disorder and came out on the other side to tell their story of recovery.

"I started using when I was just 13 years old. It began with alcohol and ma*****na, but it quickly escalated to any substance I could get my hands on. There wasn’t a specific reason I started—I wasn’t trying to escape anything in particular—but the first time I got high, I felt something I had never felt before. I felt free, at ease, and finally comfortable in my own skin. It became the solution to problems I didn’t even realize I had. But over time, that ā€œsolutionā€ became the biggest problem in my life.

Getting high became my only priority. My thoughts were consumed with how I could stay high, how long the high would last, and how I could use the people around me to make sure I didn’t come down. I lost relationships with people I loved, and I stopped caring about anything that didn’t involve drugs. I didn’t believe there was another way to live—and honestly, I didn’t want there to be. But a series of events I didn’t plan or expect led me to a treatment facility for adolescents in my area. It was there that I was introduced to something different. For the first time, I saw that there was another path—and even though I didn’t understand it yet, something in me was willing to try. That willingness became the first step in changing everything.

I have multiple years in recovery, and I am so grateful for the life that I get to live today!"

We will be replacing several pipes along CH19 from Assumption-State Highway 51 to State Highway 128. Beginning September 29th, and lasting approximately 2-3 weeks.

There will be various daytime closures to the road, beginning between 600 East and 700 East. As the work progresses, the closures will be migrating further east until all culverts are replaced.
