Hi there I’m Kristin, the founder of Milk & Honeysuckle Lactation + Wellness LLC.

There are so many new followers here, I thought I would introduce myself again!

I’m so honored to be a part of your feeding journey.

We are located in the offices of in Maumee, Ohio.
•

You do not have to be a patient a Bloom to see us. We are two different services sharing the same space!
•
•
We are in the process of being able to accept insurance, check back to our page frequently as it’s coming soon! We currently are accepting all clients with self pay rates.
•

We offer a post-partum support group every other Friday for mom’s with infants under 12 months of age. This is a completely free, laid back event! Our next group is 11/17 at the Maumee Public Library. We can’t wait to see you all there!

Colic
•

Many mothers are familiar with the term “colic” when it comes to describing their baby’s behavior. Colic is often perceived as a pediatric diagnosis, yet parents receive limited guidance from pediatricians on managing it.
•
What if I were to explain that colic is not a standalone diagnosis but rather a SYMPTOM of an underlying issue?
•
While many infants go through fussy phases, prolonged colic episodes are typically indicative of an underlying issue. In the case of breastfed babies, potential causes may include tongue and lip ties, excessive milk supply in the mother, or poor latch in the baby.
•
If your baby is experiencing colic, or if you’ve been informed that your baby has colic, it may be beneficial to seek help from an IBCLC Lactation Consultant. We are here for you and baby to make feeding a joyful experience.

Pain and breastfeeding are two words that are like nails on a chalkboard to me.
•
Breastfeeding should never be painful!
•
Pain with breastfeeding doesn’t just physically hurt but it can also cause emotional hurt as well, such as:
1. Aversion to nursing
2. Earlier weaning
3. Decrease supply
4. Make feeding very stressful
5. Trouble bonding with baby
•
Pain is a sign that something isn’t right with the latch. Most breastfeeding problems can be corrected quickly when help is sought early!

Ok so maybe that’s not “breaking news” for some but how can something that is so “primitive and natural” be so hard at times!?

There are so many factors that go into breastfeeding. It’s for sure not a one size fits all type of care. It can be frustrating even nursing subsequent babies as each nursing journey is as unique as the child you are nursing.
•
