Back to School Update 🏫

Most schools appear to be back in session and we seem to be in the calm before the germs hit 👀

What’s going around? Not very much, actually 👍 Strep throat is starting to make an appearance already, but the majority of sore throat illnesses are still related to our Summer friend Coxsackie Virus, AKA Hand Foot and Mouth. We have had some pneumonias 😷 but not nearly as much as last year which was Walking Pneumonia-palooza 🤒

Fall allergy sufferers 🤧: start your allergy meds/sprays now if you haven’t already!

Flu vaccines are coming soon - we should have them in a week or so!

We hope you have a low stress return to school 😎

An oldy but a goody! Back by popular demand!! 😳... One of our favorites to share!

Ewww! Gross! Ticks!! How do I remove it?! Should I burn it off?! Will my child get sick?! Do you want to see the tick?!
These tiny little pests can cause a lot of anxiety with parents. Here are a few things to remember:
~Use tweezers and grasp the tick as close to the skin as possible doing your best to remove its head.
~Clean the skin (and your hands) after removing it. Apply an antibiotic ointment if you would like
~Call the office if fever or rash develop in the next 4 weeks or if the bite area starts to look funky or angry.
Do "tick checks" after playing/hiking outside. Wear white clothing/socks makes them easier to see.
