Understanding your body composition is essential for a healthy, active life at any age, especially for those over 40. Let's break it down:

Body Fat in Pounds: This number tells you how many pounds of your body are made up of fat. Remember, it's not just about the number on the scale but the quality of that weight.

Body Fat Percentage: This figure indicates the proportion of your body's total weight that's fat. It's a more precise measure of your overall health than pounds alone.

Muscle Mass: Muscle is your metabolic engine, burning calories and helping you stay active. Maintaining or increasing muscle mass is crucial for staying strong and functional as you age.

Visit our website at https://vaultmaumee.com/ to learn more about interpreting and optimizing your body composition numbers. Let's start you on an individualized plan to help you get your health exactly where you want to be. Empower yourself to make informed decisions and lead a healthier, more active life.

Hey everyone! I'm Jaclyn.

How long have you been in the fitness world:
I grew up playing tennis, so the fitness world and tennis world for me were closely connected since I was little. I jumped into more consistent weight training while playing in college. I've always enjoyed working out, but 3 years ago found a love for strength training at Vault. I've been in my role as Client Success Manager for a year and a half now, and it's flown by!

Before I had my kiddos, I taught 4th grade for several years and also coached tennis. I've always loved helping people learn new skills and seeing them experience that sense of accomplishment! I've been in the role of Stay at Home Mom for the past 5 years with my 2 boys and I feel so fortunate for the quality time I've gotten to spend with them. Working at Vault has given me the opportunity to help improve others' quality of life, while still getting lots of time with my little guys.

What do I love about my job? Well, I love getting to help our members and coaches! It is so fulfilling to know I'm lightening the load of our amazing team so they can focus on helping our clients make progress toward their goals through coaching. Whether it's scheduling intro meetings for potential members, making sure things are going smoothly on the tech-side for clients, or checking on members who we haven't seen in a while, it brings me joy to help carry out Vault's passion for creating community and improving people's lives.

Favorite Movement: Bulgarian Split Squats

Favorite treat/guilty pleasure
Ben and Jerry's Oatmeal Dream Pie (Non-Dairy) Ice Cream- If you need a dairy-free/nut-free alternative to ice cream- THIS FLAVOR IS THE BEES KNEES

Favorite thing to do outside of work: Camping with my family!

If members could describe me in one word it would be: Hardworking

Jaclyn is amazing! She is a huge asset to our team. We could not do this without her!

Poor posture is a common issue that affects people of all ages, and it's often the result of our modern, sedentary lifestyles. Hunching over screens, sitting for extended periods, and not engaging our core muscles all contribute to poor posture.

The consequences of poor posture extend beyond aesthetics; it can lead to chronic back pain, decreased flexibility, and even impact our internal organs by compressing them. The good news is that strength training can be a game-changer.

By building core strength and strengthening the muscles responsible for maintaining an upright posture, you can correct poor posture and reduce the risk of related health issues.

Ready to stand tall, feel better, and improve your overall well-being? Discover how strength training can transform your posture and your life at https://vaultmaumee.com/.

Hi! I am Hannah! πŸ™‚

I have been in the fitness industry for years! I started competitively running cross country and track in school 9 years ago, and have continued to try different modalities ever since, including strength training, CrossFit, yoga, rowing, and more!

My first coaching job was at Row House in Clearwater, FL. I coached classes entirely on the rowing machine and really enjoyed it, but knew that strength training was my true passion. When I moved back to Ohio, I started here at Vault!

I love getting to know the members and what motivates them. It's so fun for me to encourage someone and see their reaction when they actually get the results they want.

Favorite movement: That's tough...I love (almost) anything with a barbell.

Favorite treat/guilty pleasure: Are we talking just food here? Because my true guilty pleasure is getting into my pajamas by 6:00PM...

Favorite thing to do outside of work: I LOVE being outside, so walking, running, or rollerblading - bonus points if I get to do it with someone I love.

If your clients described you in one word, what would it be: Scared to ask! Ha! But I think they would say I'm a "listener". I've been told this before, I really believe in being quick to listen, slow to speak, and I think my clients appreciate that. I want them to know I hear their thoughts, feelings, and concerns and truly care.

Hannah - you are the bees knees. We love watching the connections you make with our members. And we know they appreciate it too!

Meet Erin! She has been with Vault for over 5 years. She is funny, kind, and loves to help you work hard to help you reach your goals. She may go by "Evil E" to some, but that's just because of the extra burpees. 😏

1. How long have you been in the fitness world - I have been involved for over 15 years. I played sports in high school and then eventually started competed in NPC body building competitions in my mid twenties. I started training as a member at Vault 5 years ago and then eventually committed to working here during Covid as a personal trainer and coach.

2. What you love about your job - The people. I enjoy building meaningful relationships with clients and members, and ultimately helping them reach potential in their health and fitness journey.

3. Favorite movement - I know everyone would think it's burpees, but really it's just a good old barbell front squat.

4. Favorite treat/guilty pleasure - Cheez-It's

5. Favorite thing to do outside of work - Snuggle my dogs

6. If your clients described you in one word, what would it be: Motivating

We love having Erin on our team, and we know our members feel the same. πŸ™‚

As we age, maintaining a strong core becomes increasingly vital for our overall well-being. Here are just a few of the key reasons why:

Balance and Stability: A strong core provides the foundation for balance and stability, reducing the risk of falls and injuries, which become more prevalent as we grow older.

Pain Prevention: Core strength helps support the spine and reduce back pain. A stable core can alleviate discomfort and enhance the quality of life.

Functional Independence: A strong core enables us to perform daily tasks with ease, from getting out of a chair to carrying groceries, preserving our independence and ensuring a more active lifestyle as we age.

Ready to invest in your core strength for a healthier, more independent future? Explore the benefits of core-focused training at https://vaultmaumee.com/.

And we promise, you won't just be doing sit ups.😏

Meet Adam! He is our teams registered dietician. You will most likely hear from him as you begin your fitness journey with us at Vault Health and Fitness on a call about what we offer and how we can positively impact your life.

Where did it all begin: While the athletic part of fitness started young when I was playing soccer, the interest in the science behind fitness started when I was 17. I had the chance to shadow a dietician and the rest is history.

Past experiences: I played high school soccer and ran track at Perrysburg High School. I went to Kent State University and majored in nutrition, then continued on to earn my masters in health sciences. Fun fact, I actually taught a breast feeding class to new mothers.

What I love about my job: I love having an impact on people taking control over their health and fitness.

Favorite Movement: Bulgarian Split Squats

Guilty pleasure: I love a good themed event.

Favorite thing to do outside of work: Spend a night out on the town.

One word my clients would use to describe me: Graciously direct (sorry, it's two words)

Hey! I'm Nick!

I have been involved in the fitness world for my entire life, meaning that I have been in and out of strength gyms since I was 8 years old, whether it be for soccer or cheerleading. I found my love for training in being a strength coach myself after shadowing my own personal strength coach for cheer at The University of Toledo.

I just recently graduated from UT with a bachelors of science in exercise science. I was a student athlete and a part of the UT Cheer Team. I also just received my certification as a strength and conditioning specialist and am excited to apply what I learned to the Vault Team.

I love my job because I enjoy watching my clients achieve their goals and what they set out to do.

Favorite movement: Deadlift

Favorite treat/guilty pleasure: A good old Wendy's Baconator

Favorite thing to do when I'm not working: Working ouT

Hi! I'm Cortney!

- I recently transitioned from the world of education after ten years. I taught 5th grade for my first two years, and have been in 4th grade ever since. My favorite part of being a teacher was building relationships with kids and giving them the tools to be good humans and lovers of learning.

- I am now an ACE certified personal trainer.

- I am also recently certified in youth training through BrandX, and am running the youth program at our Perrysburg.

- I love encouraging members to be the best version of themselves, and motivating them during tough workouts.

- I love a good set of RDLs or walking lunges.

- I can't resist a delicious ice cream sundae with peanut butter cups, peanut butter syrup, and hot sauce.

- I enjoy spending quality time with my family and reading ALL the books.

- I love indoor plants and succulents.

- One word members would use to describe me would probably be be: positive.

That's why taking care of your health is super important right now more than ever.

Taking some simple steps can really make a big difference in your health. Things like eating good food, staying active, and keeping up with your doctor's advice can lower the chances of getting long-term illnesses or help you manage them better if you already have one.

Do you struggle with your health? Are you taking medication to keep your body in check? Would your quality of life be better if you thought you had other options? Visit our website at https://vaultmaumee.com/ and set up a strategy session with one of our coaches.

The stats on mental health:

1. Increased Risk of Depression: Adults who do not engage in regular exercise or physical activity may be more prone to developing symptoms of depression. Research has consistently shown that exercise can have a positive impact on mood and can be an effective strategy in the treatment and prevention of depression.

2. Higher Stress Levels: Sedentary behavior has been linked to higher stress levels in adults. Without regular physical activity, the body may struggle to regulate stress hormones effectively, leading to increased feelings of anxiety and tension.

3. Lowered Cognitive Function: Adults who do not exercise regularly may experience a decline in cognitive function, including memory and overall cognitive performance. Physical activity has been shown to improve cognitive abilities and reduce the risk of cognitive decline, particularly in older adults.

Don't wait. Now is the time to invest in not only your physical health, but your mental health as well. Visit our website at https://vaultmaumee.com/. We want to help you unlock your better and lead a the life you want, with the quality you deserve.

Strength training isn't just about lifting weights; it's a transformative journey that empowers your body and enhances your daily life.

Movements that Matter: Key exercises like squats, deadlifts, and bench press target multiple muscle groups, promoting strength and functionality. Squats for your lower body, deadlifts for your entire back and legs, and bench press for upper body power.

Dumbbells vs. Barbells: Dumbbells allow for more range of motion, making them great for isolated exercises. Barbells, on the other hand, distribute weight evenly, ideal for compound movements like deadlifts and bench press.

Benefits in Daily Life: Beyond sculpting your physique, strength training fosters better posture, balance, and overall functionality. It's your secret weapon for tasks like carrying groceries, lifting kids, and tackling everyday activities with ease.
