🌿✨ Welcome to the HLCC Team, Sr. Flora! ✨🌿

We are so excited to introduce Sr. Flora, our newest intern from Viterbo University, who is now accepting new patients at Heart Line Counseling & Consulting! 💙

Flora is a Roman Catholic Religious nun from the Nazareth Sisters of The Annunciation and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Viterbo. She brings a compassionate, faith-filled, and integrative approach to counseling—drawing from both Person-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) practices.

In addition to mental health counseling, Flora also provides spiritual counseling, creating space for mind, body, and spirit healing. She has a special gift for listening deeply, honoring each person’s experiences, and walking alongside them in their journey of growth.

At Heart Line Counseling, we are proud to introduce our Hopeful Hearts Resource Center — a community-based initiative designed to meet practical needs with compassion.

Currently available in our Tomah and New Lisbon locations, the Resource Center is stocked with:
💙 Clothing
💙 Non-perishable food items
💙 School supplies
💙 Other donated essentials

We’re hopeful to expand this effort to our other locations soon, ensuring that families throughout our communities have access to these supports.

As part of this initiative, our Hopeful Hearts Resource Center is now stocked with FREE school supplies for patients and community members. Whether it’s a binders, notebooks, or just a few extras to get through the week, these resources are here for you!

And while we’re giving, we’re also asking: we’re still collecting tissue (Kleenex) donations to help support local classrooms. Something as simple as a box of tissues can make a world of difference for teachers and students this year. 🍎

Heart Line had a busy and rewarding week getting out and interacting with the communities we serve! From family fun to community connection and professional growth, we were proud to be part of so many meaningful events.

On August 3rd, we joined the Family Movie Event hosted by the Juneau County Health Department at the Royall School District. Families enjoyed a screening of Inside Out 2, and we brought extra fun with our prize wheel and giveaways, creating a warm, engaging atmosphere for everyone who attended.

Then, on August 5th, we took part in the Vernon County National Night Out—a phenomenal evening from start to finish. Perfect weather brought out an amazing crowd, keeping us busy with games, prizes, and great conversations with kids, parents, and fellow local agencies. Highlights included impressive K9 demonstrations, an emergency vehicle light show, and a beautiful fireworks finale. This free event offered families a wonderful chance to connect and celebrate community safety and support.

Finally, on August 7th, we proudly sponsored the 6th Coulee Region Summit at the Westby Performing Arts Center. The day was filled with inspiring presentations on topics like Trust-Based Relational Interventions, Drug Endangered Children, and Compassion Fatigue. Attendees enjoyed a delicious lunch from The Cheese Corner and took advantage of free chair massages provided by Heather’s Balancing Touch Massage Therapy, sponsored by Heart Line Counseling & Consulting. The summit was a fantastic opportunity to network with educators, mental health professionals, law enforcement, and human service workers, all coming together to strengthen our community.

And of course, while we take our work seriously, we don’t always take ourselves too seriously. In between the professional growth, community outreach, and important conversations, we still found time for some laughs and being silly!

As the sun will set on another day in our community, our hearts feel the weight of it all. There are no words big enough to hold the weight of what our beloved communities are experiencing right now.

As we process recent events in La Crosse and the surrounding areas, our hearts are with every family, every friend, and every person sitting with unanswered questions or unbearable grief.

This isn’t just news…it’s neighbors, classmates, teammates, and loved ones. We feel it deeply, too.
