Meet our July Employee of the Month… Amber!

Amber Miller is our receptionist and also helps out in activities. During her 2 years as a part of our team, Amber has enjoyed building relationships with the residents and watching them succeed. Her motivation to come to work every day is being able to be a part of a great team and work environment. When asked what advice she would give to new employees joining the team, Amber stated, “Smile. You never know if someone’s having a rough day. Your smile could change someone’s day.

Amber has a dog and a cat. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephew, reading, and enjoying the outdoors. A fun fact about Amber is that her favorite food is Mexican!

We are so thankful to have Amber as a part of our team, and we can’t wait to see what her future has in store for her. Congratulations, Amber! 💙

Last week, we celebrated the retirement of one of our staff members, Wayne!

Wayne, our Maintenance Coordinator, has been a part of our Altercare team for 32 years and is affectionately known as “Uncle Wayne”. He has always been a friendly face to the residents, staff, and families alike.

Last Friday, we enjoyed a retirement party honoring Wayne and his years of service. Our amazing Director of Nursing, Jahadah, made shrimp and chicken alfredo, requested by Wayne. We also had green beans, garlic rolls, fresh pasta salad, and fried chicken from SweetBerry, a local shop.

Staff, residents, and corporate employees in attendance were tasked with writing notes of encouragement for Wayne in an advice box. He was also presented with an engraved watch with his retirement date and an inspirational quote.

We’re so thankful to have had someone so dedicated on our team and we wish you nothing but happiness in your future. Happy retirement, Wayne! 💙
