Animals can teach us something. All we have to do is observe ♥️💯 if you haven't read this article. You need to.

I will add that, of course, the news media takes it to 'being related to primates' and now to each their own on the beliefs they have - HOWEVER all wildlife self medicates, animals have been living and thriving on this earth without the use of modern medicine for THOUSANDS of years. As a species, all we need to do is observe the wildlife we share this earth with and stop thinking we know everything and that big pharma has our best interests at heart.

Wild Lettuce was historically smoked as an alternative to using O***m in the 19th century.

The relaxing euphoric feeling makes falling asleep much easier when you smoke, sip, v**e, or steam it. Wild Lettuce has a mild sedative effect, which makes it great for anxiety. Used as a tea, smoke, or tincture to treat insomnia.

Its best-known medicinal property is its mild sedative and pain reliever effect. The leaves and stems have a milky substance called Lactucarium, which is considered similar to O***m. Even though the substance contains no actual opiates. These effects earned wild lettuce the common name of “O***m Lettuce”.

It is NOT SAFE to eat the leaves as lettuce. As with many supplements, toxicity from wild lettuce supplementation is possible. Toxicity occurs when the active ingredient in a supplement builds up in the body over time, causing negative health effects. Always ask a healthcare professional if you are taking any types of pharmaceuticals or are pregnant/breastfeeding.

Dog Vomit Fungus, aka Scrambled Egg Slime (fuligo septica), is an interesting fungus found typically on decaying matter.

It's non toxic, and isn't necessarily edible but has been reported to be eaten in Mexico.

According to Napa County Master Gardener, "Upon study, scientists have found that these slime molds have the potential for use in antibiotics and fighting cancer..."

Phallus rubicundus, aka the Stinkhorn mushroom.

These are by far the craziest Fungus I have come across, and they smell - oh so bad. However, I recently discovered that the eggs (Photo once I come across more) are edible and have been used in history as an aphrodisiac 🤔🤭 .... interesting because they look like alien eggs, not going to lie.

The dog actually ate it after I snapped this photo. They are non toxic but I don't reccomend eating one at this stage. Break it open and take a sniff. You'll find out why 🤣
