Introducing Shalyn Adams, LPCA, Therapist to the Dragonfly team!
Shalyn is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) who provides a warm, supportive space for children (ages 5+), adolescents, and adults to explore their thoughts, emotions, and goals. She believes that everyone has the ability to grow and heal when they feel understood and accepted.
In addition to her clinical work, Shalyn serves as a school counselor, where she supports studentsâ academic, emotional, and social growth. She holds a Masterâs in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College, a Masterâs in School Counseling, and a Bachelorâs in Social Work from Morehead State University. Her background allows her to blend a deep understanding of emotional, academic, and personal development in her work with clients.
She primarily integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered, and Adlerian approaches to help clients gain insight, build confidence, and develop tools for lasting change. Her areas of focus include depression, anxiety, grief and loss, stress and burnout, academic and motivation challenges, life transitions, self-esteem, confidence building, goal setting, personal growth, and ADHD.
Shalyn is also open to working with individuals who have experienced trauma or who are on the autism spectrum, and she continues to expand her skills through ongoing professional development. She is passionate about helping clients recognize their strengths, discover new perspectives, and create meaningful change in their lives.
