March 14 Joey celebrated his 3 year kidneyversary.
He had recently been to the doctor and his creatinine numbers were better than they had been since his transplant. He was feeling on top the world about that news.
April 14, one month later…our lives changed in an instant when he lost his life to a tragic accident. Two brain surgeries and a kidney transplant and this is how it ended for him.
To say that we are devastated is an understatement. We are confused, shocked, grief stricken, and occasionally feel the anger seep in.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We have to learn to navigate our lives without a man that made sure that we never wanted for a thing, someone that loved us endlessly, and someone that lived his life to the fullest. We don’t know how that’s possible yet, but we don’t have a choice but to figure it out. 💔

NEVER FORGET, those brave first responders 🇺🇸

On this day... 23 years ago 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift. None of them saw past 10:00am Sept 11, 2001.

In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.
