We want our kids to practice taking hard moments to God in our home, a safe place and with our support. Then, when they grow older and their problems grow bigger than losing a stuffed animal or a scraped knee, they have a foundation and habit of going to God. We can't shelter them from every hardship - we shouldn't. If they learn how to navigate difficulty in a safe place, they won't be shell-shocked when the bigger difficulties of adult life and reality start to hit them.

Rest is not a reward; it’s a requirement. Sleep enough to think clearly, eat to fuel, not just to fill, drink water, move your body, and schedule small joys like you would meetings. Ask for help before you burn out, and let people love you back. When you maintain yourself, you show up softer, steadier, and stronger for everyone else. Fill the cup first, then what you give will be real and everlasting.
