Weather closed our lobby today. However, unlike other towns, your Ripley's McDonald's lobby is open daily from 7:00 til 7:00!

Dearest Friends and Family,

Four days shy of a month of my being beside my loving sister's bedside, Angie passed away.
Being the officiant of her beautiful funeral was extremely challenging and difficult but it was a duty and responsibility that I could not turn away from. It was a blessing to see friends and family , (see picture of Angie with two of her three grandchildren five months prior to her passing). Moreover, as I often called her by her loving nickname, ,
mi Kellita, meaning my Kellita.

Imagine watching and hearing your sister moan, grimacing and shaking in pain as Alzheimer's was slowly and cruelly taking her life. All the time knowing that you are inflicted with a meaner form of dementia. It seemed like regardless of how how much morphine they gave her, it was was not enough. It was during these times that all of your prayers and thoughts that you sent me, are what helped me make it through those "seventeen days and nights.”

In conclusion, there aren't enough words for me to thank Ripley's McDonald's:

GM- Chell,
Mgrs-Lisa, Zack, Heather, Jessica, Shannon, Jowan, Brandon,
Plus the rest of its MVP Team,
Sandy, Aleese, Val, Gwen, Isaiah Michael, Cam, Ty, Jaden, Austin, Josh, and my apologies for those who have slipped my Lewy's Bodies Dementia inflicted mind.

As God is my witness, I began my job as Ripley's McDonald's Lobbyist because Chell shared with me that they needed someone to work the lobby in order to open up their dine-in. "Clock me in." I told her.

Little did I know that God had a different plan for this Ripley's McDonald's Team to play
in the final chapter of my life. For that, I am forever grateful.

Dearest and ,
The death of a loved one is always a difficult time. Then, like my incredibly loved sister, they, too, pass during the Thanksgiving weekend. Millions will choose to be saddened over their death. However, this is also the time to celebrate the great memories we have of them.

As a younger brother stricken w
Lewy's Bodies Dementia,
watching as 's dementia killed her brain. However, I have chosen to celebrate our life full of beautiful and unforgettable memories. After nineteen-days of watching my oldest sister writhing and grimacing in pain, I chose to whisper (in part) these last words into her ears. The next morning, my sister, Angelita aka nickname Kellita, had passed away in the middle of the night.

My Dearest Kellita,

"Wow! We had a lot of great times. Mi Kellita, it's OK for you to leave me for now
Kellita. Soon we will all be together again. Please tell Mom, Dad, our brother (Alonzo) sister (Aida), that have preceded us in death, that I will see them all soon."

By the time I arrived at the hospice, our Kellita had passed away.

Dearest Friends and Family,

After re-reading what I had written, I was embarrassed and disheartened. If you recall, the purpose for my posting is to give you a true and honest picture of my life with Lewy's Bodies Dementia. One of my goals is to break the stereotypes people get when they hear that you have dementia.

However, I believe that I am failing in my attempt to show you the truth about living life with dementia and dying with dementia. My sister, Kellita, and I talked about it a number of times. We talked about our belief in what Pope Francis said.
"Whoever serves and gives, seems like a failure in the eyes of the world. In reality, it is exactly in giving their life that they find it," Francis said.

Thus, we agreed to help others until the end. Hence, I know that my sister wanted me to share her video with you.

Angie's shows what one looks like when dementia is in its last steps before it takes your life. Some family members can't stand to see her like this. Thus, they rarely see her at all. However, they want the doctor to keep the feeding tube going. Hence, keeping her alive.
They don't see her writhing and moaning in pain. I sit by her, I grab the lollipop stick with a sponge on the end, dip it in water, and wet her tongue, lips and the insides of her lips and cheeks. Then, I work on getting all the dry why matter that has formed out of her mouth,
I sing lullabies and made up songs to her, talk to her about our happy times, put Spotify on the Sixties Hits! That is how I'm spending the 9-10 hours per day that I am with her.
In conclusion, I apologize for my failure to communicate effectively with all of you. My heart aches, my brain hurts, and I am losing you.

Dearest Friends and Family,
This beautiful and priceless photo brings me joy and bereavement. The
were carved, decorated and laid out by my niece, her husband, and two of the three children (their one-year-old didn't feel like participating in this event this year).

The joy I am feeling is that these are as beautiful as their family. Moreover, it represents the beautiful things can do simply by working together. However, the Lewy's Bodies within me will not rest until it has taken my life. So, I find myself CONSTANTLY mentally fighting LBD. If not, I believe that I would go into a deep .

In the Final Chapter of my Life, I accepted my position to help Ripley McDonald's as their (in charge of the lobby). Since then, my duties have expanded into becoming one of ltheir Burristas! A Burrista is a 🌯 Roller Specialist. There are millions of Burrito Rollers. However, globally there's but a a couple of Burristas. Fortunately for us, both of them are working at Ripley McDonald's!

Dearest Friends and Family,
The purpose for my posting on Syleetos FB is to give you an honest Lewy's Bodies Dementia assessment as it's happening. Sometimes, I'll see something incredibly special that fills me up with joy and pleasure. Unfortunately, my pleasure will quickly turn to pain and tear filled eyes. As I think of the things that I won't see. Drivers training, getting ready for his first middle school dance, plays and more. So immediately, I give thanks to my Lord of and Savior, Jesus Christ. , immediately get back to loving every second of my Grandson's first-time in his three-year-old life of using a mixer!

Please do me a favor, enjoy today because there's no guarantee of tomorrows!

Where would an 18- year-old, 6' 7", 220 pound young man go to get re-energized quick and solid! You see, in a few hours, Cowboy Ed will once again be strapped onto the/ back of another M-Triple-B! In Cowboy Ed's rodeo lingo, an M-Triple-B! stands for Mean-Butt-Bucking-Bull!

Our bullrider, Cowboy Ed, recharges his batteries at Ripley's McDonald’s! Ed is an incredible young man. He started riding BULLS at the age of 16. But, growing up watching his dad ride bulls, Cowboy Ed knew what he was going to do when yþhe turned sixteen! . È As they say, like father like son. I’ve learned a lot from this incredible family. That is a nice thing about being Ripley McDonald’s lobbyist. I meet incredible families and people. The attached picture is of your Lobbyist and Cowboy Ed! Cowboy Ed is the one with the cowboy hat on. The other one is me.

Dearest Friends and Family,
It's been a long time. Even by MTV (Mexican Time Vato). God knows that I have started texting you numerous times, but, my tremors worsen as I type. Then, I don't know how to save it. So it gets deleted. It frustrates me to the point where I quit for a few days. Before I know it, months have gone by.

Anyway by the Mayo Clinic doctors, Lewy's Bodies dementia will win in about 12-18 months. However, I have a surprise for Lewy's. In the words of the great philosophers, the Ozark Mountain Daredevils, "I have a mountain of dreams to climb before I get to the house on the hill." So with all due respect to the Mayo Clinic doctors, I figure it will take me at least three years.
Hopefully, I will see you soon at our McDonald's Ripley. Remember, I am YOUR Lobbyist.

You know, if our GM Chell, hadn't shared with me that their dine-in was closed due to the lack of anyone applying to run the lobby, I would not be here. Now, the unbelievable team that Chell and the owner, Sue, have assembled makes me feel like I am a critical part of the TEAM. Imagine that an old man with a dying brain is special. Are you kidding ME? Sue, Chell, and the rest of the team are the best team members that I have ever worked with! Ph.D. or no Ph.D. it's what is in their heart. As God is my witness, Sue, Chell, and the management team of Lisa, Heather, Jowan, Jessica, Zack, Shannon, and the rest of the team are an incredibly talented and caring group of people! They care about our customers. We're not perfect, but our passion to work towards it runs deep!

Finally, if our dine-in is closed, please know that it is not because we want to...but, staff shortages. So if anyone wants to join a special team, just stop by and fill out an application.

Dearest Friends and Family,
The video posted by this Lewy's Bodies DEMENTIA (LBD) inflicted old man, whose brain cells are being killed 1440 minutes a day, represent my honest and true LBD journey. The fact is with each brain cell killed, it's making me dumber. I may not be able to stop it. But I am able to choose how I am living with it. I choose to be grateful and happy as many of the 1440 daily minutes that I've been blessed to live.
