A skin cancer in the lower eyelid. He had a rhomboid flap for reconstruction. πŸ“ The last photo is his outcome at 14 months with no revisions. Sometimes waiting is best when it comes to swelling and redness! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ€ŸπŸ»

Here is a very nice patient who had two concurrent skin cancers, one on the cheek and one on the nose. The cheek was treated with a cervicofacial flap and the nose with a bilobe. Both are tried and true in facial reconstruction. β˜πŸ»πŸ‘ƒπŸΌπŸ‘©πŸ»β€βš•οΈ

Otoplasty after mastoidectomy. Sometimes losing bone behind the ear can cause unrolling of the upper portion of the ear causing shape changes. Carefully placed scar revision and sutures provides a quick fix. πŸ‘‚πŸ‘‚βœ‚οΈπŸ“Œ

A small to moderate size defect in the cheek just in front of the ear is a good opportunity to employ the β€œO to T” flap. Starts out like an πŸ”΄ ends like a T. πŸ†πŸ†πŸ† Looks like a winner to me!

This patient had a small pigmented area that turned out to be a skin cancer that left her with a sizable wound. I used a cervicofacial flap to close the area completely with stitches. This is the early result (1 month). The incisions will fade with time. She’s happy 😊

The rhombic flap is a reliable local option for reconstruction of even large defects. In this location it was designed to incorporate the stretchy submental skin, which preserved the height of the lower lip and also the patients ability to grow a beard!

This patient had a Merkle Cell Carcinoma, an uncommon type of skin cancer. For him we used a cervicofacial flap to close this large defect, and it nicely hides the incisions. We are happy 😊

Swipe to see my most recent tissue expander case. *sensitive photos*. This lovely patient had a malignant scalp cancer that left her with a large bald spot on the top of her head. Tissue expanders stretch the hair bearing scalp to give patients full coverage, eliminating the bald spot πŸ‘©πŸΌ. What an outstanding tool. Is that a trick or treat πŸ‘» ?

This wonderful patient is 94 in actual years and 96 in military years, he will explain openly that he fibbed about his age to serve in the military in WW2. Oh the stories these patients bring to the office really are remarkable. He was asking for clearance to travel, as he was planning a trip abroad. When you look this good, you gotta share it with the world πŸŒŽπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚

He had a skin cancer that was respected by my partner, and I used a cervicofacial flap for this lovely veteran. What a gem πŸ’Ž.

This lovely patient had a merkel cell carcinoma, a rare type of skin cancer that was picked up by an astute dermatologist at her husband’s visit. She underwent an excision with sentinel node biopsy and I did her reconstruction after the cancer was removed. This is an island 🏝 V to Y advancement flap on which is a great tool for upper lip πŸ‘„reconstruction.
