Meet certified case manager Pamela Scott, RN, our March Behind the Badge colleague.
For Pamela Scott, nursing is a legacy. Inspired by her grandmother, Theolena, and her aunt, Dr. Amelia Stevens, Pamela knew early on that caring for others was her calling. She began her career as an LPN right out of high school and continued her education to earn both her ADN and BSN.
Over the course of her career, Pamela has worked as a nurse auditor, supported patients in clinics, worked on hospital floors, provided occupational health services, offered first aid, and ultimately found her passion in Case Management, where she has spent the last 15 years at Loyola University Medical Center.
“I love being a case manager because you can truly make a difference in someone’s life,” Pamela shares. “Whether a patient is going home or transitioning to a nursing facility, making that process smooth and supportive really matters.” She speaks proudly of the Case Management department at Loyola and the positive changes it has experienced over the years. “Change is good and all of the changes we’ve been through have made us better.” Pamela lives by the words of advice her aunt always said: “Get all the pearls of wisdom you can and remember, change is good.”
Outside of work, Pamela enjoys dancing, reading and spending time with family. She’s a proud mom of two daughters, a grandmother to two “extra special” grandchildren, and will celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary this June. Fun fact: Pamela has even appeared on Deal or No Deal, twice!
Ready for a role with variety, purpose and room to grow? Come join Pamela on our Case Management team! We’re hiring RN Inpatient Case Managers and would love to hear from you.
