Jerry Wayne Spillers, Sr., 82, of Alderson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at a later date.
Jerry was born on June 30, 1943, in Hanna, Oklahoma, to Lloyd Edward and Margaret Marie (Chronister) Loftin. He spent part of his youth in California, where he graduated from San Pedro High School with the Class of 1959 in Los Angeles.
On August 29, 1961, Jerry married the love of his life, JoAnn S. Weatherly, in Long Beach, California. Their marriage was one of devotion and partnership that endured for 60 years.
Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy, enlisting in 1960 and retiring in 1993 after a distinguished and honorable career. He achieved the rank of Commander and served during the Vietnam War, along with numerous assignments across the globe. His service reflected his dedication, leadership, and commitment to his country.
Following his military retirement, Jerry continued to serve his community as a process server for Maricopa County, Arizona, a role he held for 17 years.
A man of strong faith and values, Jerry was a longtime member of Enterprise #70 Masonic Lodge in Yuba City, California, and later affiliated with Solomon Lodge in McAlester. His more than 52 years of Masonic membership reflected his dedication to brotherhood, service, and integrity. He was also a faithful member of the McAlester First Free Will Baptist Church.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Spillers; his mother, Margaret Loftin; his beloved wife, JoAnn Sue Spillers; and his brother, George Edward Spillers.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through his family, including his son, Jerry W. Spillers, Jr.; daughters, Rané L. Camden, Janet Lee Bradbury, Shelly Louise Howarth, Kelly Marie Farrow, and Terri Virginia Aye; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; his brother, Charles Loftin; his sister, Anita Bremer; special cousins, Jack and Darlene Mouser; as well as numerous other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.
Jerry will be remembered for his unwavering service, his deep commitment to family, and the quiet strength and wisdom he shared with those who knew him.
