Jerry Wayne Spillers, Sr., 82, of Alderson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at a later date.

Jerry was born on June 30, 1943, in Hanna, Oklahoma, to Lloyd Edward and Margaret Marie (Chronister) Loftin. He spent part of his youth in California, where he graduated from San Pedro High School with the Class of 1959 in Los Angeles.

On August 29, 1961, Jerry married the love of his life, JoAnn S. Weatherly, in Long Beach, California. Their marriage was one of devotion and partnership that endured for 60 years.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy, enlisting in 1960 and retiring in 1993 after a distinguished and honorable career. He achieved the rank of Commander and served during the Vietnam War, along with numerous assignments across the globe. His service reflected his dedication, leadership, and commitment to his country.

Following his military retirement, Jerry continued to serve his community as a process server for Maricopa County, Arizona, a role he held for 17 years.

A man of strong faith and values, Jerry was a longtime member of Enterprise #70 Masonic Lodge in Yuba City, California, and later affiliated with Solomon Lodge in McAlester. His more than 52 years of Masonic membership reflected his dedication to brotherhood, service, and integrity. He was also a faithful member of the McAlester First Free Will Baptist Church.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Spillers; his mother, Margaret Loftin; his beloved wife, JoAnn Sue Spillers; and his brother, George Edward Spillers.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through his family, including his son, Jerry W. Spillers, Jr.; daughters, Rané L. Camden, Janet Lee Bradbury, Shelly Louise Howarth, Kelly Marie Farrow, and Terri Virginia Aye; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; his brother, Charles Loftin; his sister, Anita Bremer; special cousins, Jack and Darlene Mouser; as well as numerous other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.

Jerry will be remembered for his unwavering service, his deep commitment to family, and the quiet strength and wisdom he shared with those who knew him.

Dorolene June Swain, age 97, of Boonville, Missouri died April 24, 2026 in McAlester, Oklahoma.

Dorolene is preceded in death by her parents Hazel and Delmer Sutterfield and her husband Bill Swain.

She is survived by her daughter Amy and husband Jay, 6 grandchildren; Micah Henson, Shirley Stichter (Drew), James Venable, Betsey Brazel (Jeremy), Emily Jacobs (Nick), and Kate Hemphill (Eric), and 11 great grandchildren.
Born June 2, 1928, Dorolene was the only child of Delmer and Hazel Sutterfield.

Dorolene’s parents were both teachers. Mom taught 1st thru 8th grades while Dorolene was in elementary school at Greeley. Her dad taught high school and was the principal her senior year. Her grandfather owned and operated the only business in Greely, the General Mercantile Store. Dorolene spent her Saturdays at the store helping at the candy counter.

After high school she attended Springfield Southwest Missouri State Teachers College. One day one of her friends asked her to go to the Administration building and stand under the clock to wait for a friend. She was to tell this friend that the person they were waiting for was not feeling well and did not plan on attending the assembly. Dorolene waited and found Bill Swain and delivered the message. Bill walked Dorolene to her next class and was waiting for her after class to walk her home. After 2 years, Bill graduated college and wanted to get married. Dorolene wouldn’t have it until she had graduated. Two years later on August 20th, 1950 she married William (Bill) Swain.

After the wedding, Bill and Dorolene began teaching. Bill became Superintendent for Boonville public schools and stayed for 30 years. Dorolene taught for 7 years and then opened her own ladies ready to wear shop in Mexico, MO called Dora’s. Over the course of 5 years she had shops in Fulton, Sedalia, and Boonville. Bill and Dorolene had one daughter, Amy who followed in the family footsteps of being a teacher. Bill and Dorolene had 42 years together as husband and wife before Bill passed. After Amy was out of the house and Bill was gone, Dorolene spent her time with friends playing Gin Rummy or participating in her local chapter of the Red Hatters Society.

Memorial services and burial will be held at Howard-Millard Funeral Home in Boonville, Missouri on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

Steven Edward White, 64 of Indianola passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026 in Oklahoma City.

Steven Edward was born on November 27, 1961 in McAlester. He graduated from Indianola High School and retired from the City of McAlester Parks Department where he worked as a supervisor.
Steven loved to play music, especially the guitar. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Cox and youngest son, Steven Lee White.

Steven is survived by his son, Brandon White, granddaughter, Teresa Nester and step-father, Ralph Cox.

Louise Chambers was born in Sand Springs Oklahoma on November 13th, 1940 to Lowell Chambers and Hazel Chambers. Louise was one of nine children she grew up in Sand Springs, OK and attended Sand Springs High School. After high school she married Roy Kidd, this union produced four children, Scott Kidd, Bryan Kidd, Jeffery Kidd, and Todd Kidd. On February 4th 1969 Louise married Jim Wagnon in Miami, OK. They then relocated to McAlester, OK where Louise would go on to work several jobs before finally finding her passion with the Department of Human Services where she worked for over 30 years doing the things she loved, always helping someone. Whatever or wherever she was she was always trying to help someone, and she will truly be missed by all who knew her she was one of a kind. Jim and Louise had one child Jason Wagnon on November 16th, 1972.

She was preceded in death by brothers, William Chambers, Clyde Chambers, Warren Chambers, Glen Chambers, and Gene Chambers. Sisters Rosiana Harris, Patricia Rodgers. Sons Scott Kidd and Jeffery Kid. Grandson Shawn Kidd.

She is survived by husband Jim Wagnon of the home, son Jason Wagon of the home, granddaughter Madison Wagnon of the home, Bryan Kidd and wife Donna of McAlester, OK, Todd Kidd and wife Anna and son Caleb of Shreveport, LA, also special sister Eunice Campbell of Hugo, OK, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many special friends.

Donnie Eugene “Don” Kelley, 60, of McAlester, passed away Friday, April 17, 2026, in Tulsa.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 24, 2026, at Bishop Chapel of Memories, officiated by Dr. Randy Adams.

Don was born May 31, 1965, in Tulsa to Thomas William and Wilma Jean (Carr) Kelley. He was raised in Louisiana and Claremore and graduated from Claremore High School in 1983. Following high school, Don served his country in the United States Navy. After his honorable discharge, he spent time as an owner-operator truck driver before continuing his education and earning an associate degree from Eastern Oklahoma State College.

Don worked as a lineman for Western Farmers Electric, where his career took him to Chickasha, Binger, and McAlester. In recent years, he worked for Big V Feeds as a truck driver. Never one to sit still, Don also enjoyed cattle ranching and remodeling homes, always keeping his hands busy and his mind engaged.

Don had a deep love for the outdoors. He found joy in camping, fishing, and taking in live music at concerts. He was a natural builder and fixer, someone who could make or mend just about anything. Above all, he cherished time spent with those he loved.

On December 21, 2019, Don married Kerry Beal, in Branson, Missouri. Together, they shared many adventures, whether traveling, exploring, or simply enjoying the open road. Don especially loved riding his Harley-Davidson alongside Kerry. He was a proud member of the Eternal Few Motorcycle Club.

Don was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George and Maudie Kelley; maternal grandparents, Franklin and Rosie Carr; cousin, David Vaughan; mother-in-law, Anna Mae Beal; and brother-in-law, Richard Magby.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kerry Kelley of the home; son, Justin Kelley and wife Serena; daughters, Emily Stopp, Cheyenne “Mo” Selman, and Kaya Selman; five grandchildren, Sophia Kelley, Audrina Stopp, Boston Stopp, Charlotte Stopp, and soon-to-be-born Waylon Selman; his parents, Tom and Wilma Kelley; sister, Sherrie Kelley; father-in-law, Nickey Beal; sisters-in-law, Kim Magby and Lisa Price and husband Roger; brother-in-law, Rickey Beal and wife Linda; his neighbor and dear friend, Mae Humbles; along with numerous extended family members and many friends.

Don will be remembered for his strong work ethic, adventurous spirit, and the love he shared with his family, friends and especially his wife, Kerry. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
