For our final day, we share story #5, voices that remind us healing is not linear, but it is possible.

These stories reflect growth, boundaries, and the courage it takes to name childhood experiences and reclaim personal identity beyond addiction.

As we close this week, we honor every child, past and present, who has been impacted by substance use in their family. You are not alone, and your story matters.

Thank you for being part of this week of awareness, reflection, and hope.

Today, we continue our series by sharing another voice.

This story offers a personal reflection on growing up with addiction in the family and how those experiences can stay with someone over time—shaping perspectives, strengths, and understanding.

We appreciate you taking a moment to read and reflect with us.

Today’s story comes from another individual who grew up in an environment touched by addiction.

Today, we share another story from an adult who grew up impacted by addiction in their families.

Their voice reflects on childhood experiences that shaped how they see themselves and the world today. Their story is one of reflection, growth, and learning to make sense of the past.

We invite you to read with openness and care.

This week, we are honoring Children of Addiction Awareness Week by lifting up voices that are too often unheard.

Many children grow up in homes impacted by substance use. Those experiences don’t end in childhood, they shape adulthood, relationships, resilience, and identity. Too often, these stories are carried quietly.

Over the next five days, we will be sharing the stories of five adults who courageously reflect on what it was like to grow up as a child of addiction, and how those experiences influenced who they are today.

These stories are raw. They are honest. And they remind us that while addiction impacts families deeply, healing and hope are possible.

Thank you to those who trusted us with their voices. We invite you to read, reflect, and hold space with us this week.
