Today marks the 6th year anniversary of Inner Solace Therapy.

I’m ecstatic for my younger self who once felt lost and wandered, and yet, still find myself crying for the version of me that felt like I didn’t measure up to others.

Building a business is beyond hard. ā€œIf you build it, they will come!ā€

You build it, and then you question everything.

And somehow, you keep going.

To every person who trusted me with their story, who allowed me into their healing, and who chose to sit across from me and do the hard work, thank you.

And to those who refer, recommend, and speak my name in rooms I’m not in, you have helped build this in ways I cannot fully put into words.

And to my husband and my son, thank you for your unconditional love and support, for holding me through the highs and challenges along the way, and for being my constant through it all.

Inner Solace Therapy exists because I did not give up, and because people like you believed in me along the way.

Some stages of parenting feel heavier than others.

Not just because of what your child is going through…
but because of what it brings up in you.

Developmental mirroring can show up in subtle ways like in your reactions, your emotions, your triggers.

Not to overwhelm you, but to reveal the parts of you that still need care šŸ¤

There’s a theory that childhood wounds can resurface when your child reaches the age you were hurt the most

It’s called
developmental mirroring

when your child becomes a reflection of the parts of you
that never got fully nurtured

and suddenly…
your reactions feel bigger
your patience feels thinner
your emotions feel closer
to the surface

not just because of what’s happening now but because something in you remembers
the version of you that needed more support, more understanding, more care

and now you’re holding space
for your child while learning how to hold it for yourself too šŸ¤

Therapy will ask you to look at things you’ve learned to avoid.

And yeah… that can feel like a lot.

But what we don’t process, we carry.
Into our relationships.
Into our patterns.
Into our everyday life.

Healing can feel uncomfortable…
but so is carrying the same baggage everywhere you go.

A lot of the parenting struggles talked about in therapy aren’t just about behavior…
they’re about disconnection.

And sometimes, that disconnection comes from not having had it modeled for us.

If you grew up feeling misunderstood, dismissed, or like your emotions were ā€œtoo muchā€ā€¦
it makes sense that connecting with your child’s inner world can feel confusing or even overwhelming at times.

Not because you don’t care,
but because you’re learning something you may have never received.

These questions aren’t about being a perfect parent…
they’re about helping you slow down, get curious, and build the kind of connection you may have needed too šŸ¤

I promise, I don’t tell couples to ā€œjust stop talkingā€ (even when it might sound tempting šŸ˜…).

Couples therapy isn’t about avoiding conflict, it’s about learning how to move through it together because real change happens when you lean in, not when you pull away.

When communication breaks down, disconnection grows. But with the right tools and support, repair is possible. ā¤ļø
