Childhood vaccination rates for the 2024-25 school year fell for the fifth year in a row, according to CDC data published Thursday.

Vaccine coverage for shots that protect against measles, polio, chickenpox, whooping cough and hepatitis B has now been under 95% — a threshold many experts consider herd immunity — since at least the 2020-2021 school year.

‼️IMPORTANT UPDATE: This distribution has reached capacity, this distribution has ended.

☀ Join us for a Summer Food Distribution tonight, July 17 from 5-7 p.m. at the Food Bank RGV in Pharr, made possible by Pinegate Renewables!

This distribution is open to all cities, and will operate on a first come, first serve basis. There is a limit of 2 families max. per car. Each family is responsible for bringing a valid photo ID and proof of address. All car trunks must be empty. See flyer for full details.

The line starts at the south entrance of the Food Bank, and runs south on Cage Blvd. and then east on Bus. 83. There will be ZERO TOLERANCE FOR CUTTING IN LINE FROM ANY STREETS. Please make sure to follow the flow of traffic, and avoid blocking any businesses.

The first 445 families will also receive a fan, courtesy of H-E-B.
