Back on board the beautiful Celebrity Ascent. I realized I didn’t post any ship photos. Didn’t take as many pics of the different venues on the ship, but took a bunch of food pics 😝. Here are a few of our favorites.

Last port of call, and we saved the best excursion for the end! Visited Napoli and took a ride out to Sorrento where we went to the local market with the chef to choose local produce and ingredients for a private dinner once back on board. We got to visit a local farm where they still make their own buffalo mozzarella and ricotta. We continued on to Positano where we had a wonderful lunch before heading back to Napoli. Did a little sight seeing and shopping along the way. Overall, a great end to our cruise!

Limited internet, so forgive the delay in posting! Port stop #5 was Myconos. Got to experience a family farm where they made their own wine and cheese. Had a wine tasting then got to go visit a local restaurant for some authentic gyros.

4th stop was Santorini. Wandered the city of Fira on our own. Stopped at rooftop lounges and simply enjoyed the views, the company and the local food. This is the definition of BLISS!

Third port was Istanbul, Turkey. We spent 2 days in port. Day 1, we cruised on the Bosphorus and shopped at the grand bazaar. Day 2, we took a city tour to see the walls that once enclosed the Old City, saw several of the 3000 mosques in the city, and shopped at the spice market. It was a bit overwhelming since 24 million people live here and traffic and crowds are crazy! It was definitely a learning experience about life, culture and religion in a place I knew little about, but I can now appreciate the commonalities we share.

2nd port was Ephesus. We visited the house of the Virgin Mary where I lit a candle for friends, family and those in need. Then we went to the ancient ruins of Ephesus. It felt surreal to walk the marble streets of this historic city. It was a warm day with lots of walking, but such an amazing experience!

First port stop…. Crete, Greece. Visited small village of Vamos, a monastery, a local family winery, and did a little shopping of hand crafted jewelry. Beautiful start to our trip. Of course, I had to take photos of plants and flowers!💐
