Some days I’m trying to grow and change and get clarity and all that stuff.

And some days… I’m just trying to stay regulated and not make things harder than they need to be.

Today feels like a maintenance day, just being.

What do your maintenance days look like?

Some days I don’t actually feel tired… I feel everywhere.

Thinking about other people’s needs. Replaying conversations. Carrying stuff that probably isn’t even mine to carry.

One of the things Wood Betony teaches is this: when your energy is pulled in a hundred directions, it’s hard to feel whole.

So here’s a check-in: Where is your energy going that you’d kinda like to call back home?

Not like in a I'm gonna burn my life down kind of way. More like… what could you loosen your grip on, just a little?

You don’t have to fix everything. Sometimes you just gather yourself back first.

(If you’re working with Wood Betony right now, you know exactly what I mean.)

Most of my relationship with plants isn't a big thing.

It looks like drinking tea. Taking the same tincture every day for months. Noticing the same plant on my walks and saying hello.

You don’t need perfect quiet, candles, or a whole setup to be in relationship with plants. That kind of thing can be lovely, but it’s not how connection usually grows.

Connection grows in small, regular moments. When plants are part of your actual life.

If you want something simple to try:
🌿Drink your tea. Smell it, really taste it. See how it feels in your body.
🌿Put a hand on your belly or heart when you take your herbs and say thank you.
🌿Acknowledge one plant you pass all the time. It might even say hello back :)

Plants respond to attention and consistency.

What’s one way you're already connecting with plants?

You don’t have to be falling apart to ask for support.

Just because you’re functioning doesn’t mean you’re fine. You can still get up, do the things, take care of everyone else… and be quietly worn down at the same time.

One of the things I love about Wood Betony is that it doesn’t wait for a full-blown meltdown.

It meets that low-grade, always-on, holding-it-together kind of tired.

So here’s your permission slip.

You don’t have to be in crisis to deserve rest, care, or support. You don’t have to “earn” it by burning out first.

Sometimes tending yourself early is the most powerful move there is.

Winter isn’t about transcending the body. It’s about coming back into it.

This is root chakra season, safety, slowness, rest. Not escaping the body, but learning how to inhabit it.

A lot of people live in a low-grade state of pushing, holding it together, staying alert, staying productive…even when they’re sitting on the couch.

This season is about building the capacity to hold more life, more feeling, more awareness in the body without short-circuiting.

That’s exactly what plants are so damn good at teaching: slow, steady support and how to come back into the body.

Root first. Grow later.

I can pretty much guarantee your life isn’t happening at the bottom of a bag of chips or on Netflix, although neither of those is a 'bad' thing in my opinion. I love both!

But the reality is your life happens when you show up for it, even in the quiet, even in the slow, even in the messy middle.

This season isn’t about pushing. It’s about letting life open your heart, gently. 💜

I’m kind of sick of being told here are the five things to try before breakfast. Here’s the 10 steps for whatever the hell ails you.

I'm more interested in the deeper conversations.

I don’t need more information. I don’t need to fix anything. I need things that support me over time.

Healing, if that’s what you want to call it, comes from showing up to the same true things, over and over, until they start to settle my nervous system.

We’re in an age of information overload. And yeah, I scroll and Google too much sometimes, too.

But I’m really working on staying in relationship with myself and my intuition, instead of chasing the next thing that promises to fix me.

By the way, this is how plants work. Just sayin 😏💚

I'm so blessed to be able to start my mornings slowly. 💜

Winter is the season that supports the nervous system. The slower pace and the quiet give the body time to settle and strengthen.

When the nervous system is asked to process more input, more information, more stimulation, more emotional complexity, and more awareness, it can get overwhelmed.

It needs more time and space to integrate.

I’m using the quiet season to build nervous system capacity.

Sometimes it’s as simple as sitting down with a warm cup of tea.

So the other day I pulled a card to guide me through the winter season, and the one that came up was The Stone.

It seemed so boring (eye roll), but when I read the message, I thought, hum, maybe it's perfect. Aren't they always?

Stone's message wasn't really inspirational. It wasn't like, here’s your big winter message.

It was undramatic, which is awesome.

Stone is an ancient presence. It's an anchor. A way to hold things in the crazy of the world. Like a paper weight.

For me, it feels like a reminder to ground and connect to the stillness and quiet.

What feels like an anchor for you right now?

So grateful. But, I wouldn't say no to more snow. See you at the start of the next calendar.

’Twas almost Christmas and all through the house, the snacks were disappearing and so was my motivation.

No room for a tree, but a poinsettia will do, small, scrappy, but still a little festive too.

The blankets are out, (although they're always out), the kettle is on, and I’m fully prepared to hibernate a little early.

If you’re still bustling, I salute you.
If you’re already horizontal under a pile of blankets, you’re in good company.

Almost Christmas. 🎄Have the best day ever!
