Orlando Villanueva is our new Chief Nursing Officer! Orlando previously served as Emergency Department Director at MCHD and brings more than nine years of experience as a critical care nurse, along with 24 years as a licensed paramedic. Before moving into healthcare leadership, he served 22 years with Odessa Fire Rescue, retiring as a Fire Captain.
In his new role, Orlando will help lead nursing operations, support clinical quality, and continue strengthening patient care across the district.
Please join us in congratulating Orlando on this new leadership role at MCHD.
We also extend our appreciation to Kristen Upchurch, BSN, RN, for her years of leadership and service as Chief Nursing Officer.

Meanwhile, our dietary services team brought the noise with their top-notch hospitality, spreading kindness, compassion, and joy! We also took a moment to high-five our peers for their remarkable achievements, honoring their excellence with awards voted on by the staff.
