Cervical cancer is highly preventable when caught early. At St. James Health and Wellness, we’re sharing the facts to help you stay healthy in 2026.

The Facts on Prevention:

• The Cause: Most cases are caused by HPV. The HPV vaccine can prevent over 90% of these cancers.

• Screening (21–29): A Pap test is recommended every 3 years.

• Screening (30–65): Primary HPV testing is now the preferred standard every 5 years.

The HPV test and the Pap test can help prevent cervical cancer or find it early.
