Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common form of skin cancer and the most frequently occurring form of all cancers. In the U.S. alone, an estimated 3.6 million cases are diagnosed each year. BCCs arise from abnormal, uncontrolled growth of basal cells. BCCs can look like open sores, red patches, pink growths, shiny bumps, scars or growths with slightly elevated, rolled edges and/or a central indentation. On skin of color, BCCs may appear to be pigmented.

Because BCCs grow slowly, most are curable and cause minimal damage when caught and treated early. Learn about BCC causes, risk factors and warning signs:

“July is UV Safety Month.☀️

Did you know: UV radiation is a proven human carcinogen.

When it comes to skin cancer, a major risk factor is prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
Understanding UV radiation and how it damages your skin is an important first step in safeguarding yourself against skin cancer.

The good news is that you can greatly reduce the danger posed by UV radiation. You can enjoy outdoor activities and limit your skin cancer risk by taking simple, smart protective measures.”

Thanks !💙

Not all skin cancers look suspicious.

Only 20–30% of melanomas arise from existing moles. The rest? They pop up on skin that looks totally normal. Regular checks can save your life.
