🏸 Did you know the total surface area of your small intestine is about the size of a badminton court? That’s a whole lot of real estate inside your body to keep happy — and it’s just one organ!
🌱 Your gut plays a huge role in digestion and nutrient absorption, immune function, brain and mood connection, inflammation and chronic disease, hormone balance, detoxification, skin health, energy levels, and more.
🦠 I like to think of your microbiome (the gut’s community) as a lunchroom. The beneficial bacteria — aka the good guys — are like the “Mean Girls.” Everyone wants a seat at the table, but these girls don’t let just anyone sit down. When the gut is disrupted, the good guys leave and the troublemakers take their place — a state called dysbiosis.
😷 Dysbiosis can be caused by many things: illness, inflammation, stress, antibiotics, food intolerances, infections (like COVID), and environmental toxins. And here’s the kicker — it can take up to 2️⃣ years to fully heal the gut lining.
❤️🩹 So while probiotics are helpful, true gut healing goes much deeper.
