Treat the cause, not the symptom.
Some would say when posting a picture like the first one “this is hard to post” but for me, it’s not. It’s a triumph. It shows what I overcame by trusting (and strengthening) my gut and by switching gears from what my dermatologists (yes, plural) were telling me was the accepted and best way to get rid of my persistent acne.
That first pic is me AFTER accutane. AFTER topical clindamycin. AFTER Rx tretinoin. AFTER an Rx face wash, AFTER birth control, AFTER….. I don’t even know at this point all the topicals and orals I tried that my dermatologist wrote me a prescription for.
But then I thought that all of those are just chasing the symptoms of something out of balance. And that’s when my skincare philosophy was born and that baby esthetician took matters into her own hands.
It wasn’t a fast road to clearing. Yes I still get a couple here or there, but they’re small and are gone quickly. (And honestly are because i slacked either on my routine or diet). But I got clear. And I’m staying clearer than I ever was from age 14-36, even with all those conventionally accepted “best practice” methods of treatment.

In short, the term “clean” has been so - muddied - ironically enough, that it doesn’t really characterize what makes a product safe to use and thoughtfully crafted to be *actually* effective.

Hi everyone!

So in a way to sortof “pay it forward” from all the times my parents took my Girl Scout cookie sale form to their offices - I’m putting a link to vote for Maggie and also support the National Wildlife Federation on here.
As some of you know, Maggie has autism, and being in nature you can literally see her little body and amazing brain get in sync. She loves science and learning about all things natural - from animals to plants, and (sometimes) bugs.
