MEET RACHEL 👋
Born in Cleveland, and growing up there, overseas in the Gulf, then in Northern Virginia, Rachel was an avid runner when she was first introduced to yoga in 2012 by her neighbor. Thinking at first that yoga would at least be an opportunity to focus on “stretching” out, Rachel was immediately drawn not only to the physicality of the postures and flow, but also to the meditation she found in its focus on breathwork. It was the first time Rachel felt completely present, leaving her thoughts and worries of the day outside of the studio’s four walls ✨
From then on and through life’s changes—including a lot of work travel, law school, and moving and working across the country—Rachel left and returned to her mat throughout the years. When Rachel moved to Pittsburgh, she reignited her love of yoga by taking on teacher training to deepen her practice and find community in a new city. Now a teacher, Rachel’s goal for her classes is one of fostering connection and moving meditation 🧘♀️
Outside of yoga, Rachel can be found with a book and a coffee or tea, talking about her parents’ native Lebanon, playing hide and seek with her cat, Fairouz, and slowly, surely, getting back into running again 🏃♀️
You can catch Rachel on your mat every other Saturday in January, taking turns teaching the Grow Your Roots: Advanced Asana classes with Nicole 🌿
