We promise our jokes are better in person. šŸ˜…
But in all seriousness…

Vision is more than just what you ā€œsee.ā€

It’s how your eyes and brain work together to make sense of the world around you.

And if things look blurry, doubled, or jumpy—there are solutions.

We’ll keep the eye jokes coming…but we take your vision very seriously.

Tell us your best eye joke in the comments ā¬‡ļø

Trouble focusing.
Avoiding reading.
Headaches.
Fidgeting during homework.

Sometimes attention problems start with visual strain.

When reading makes your eyes work too hard, your brain gets tired fast.

Before assuming it’s behavioral — it’s worth making sure the visual system is working efficiently.

šŸ’¬ Save this if you know a parent who needs to hear it

If we had a dollar for every time we heard
ā€œBut they have 20/20 visionā€¦ā€

We could probably fund a lot of therapy sessions. šŸ˜„

20/20 means you can see the letters on a chart across the room.

It doesn’t measure:
• Eye coordination
• Tracking
• Focusing
• Visual stamina
• How the eyes work during reading

That’s like saying:
ā€œI can see the basketball hoop, so I must be ready for the championship.ā€

Vision is a team sport between the eyes and the brain.

Before we ever start testing, I’m thinking about one thing:

How does this space feel when you walk in?

For many of our patients — especially our sensory-sensitive kids — new environments can feel overwhelming.

So we’ve been very intentional about creating a calm, welcoming space.

Soft lighting.
No rush.
A steady, supportive pace.

We want kids (and adults!) to know it’s okay to:
• Take their time
• Ask questions
• Make mistakes
• Just be themselves

Progress happens so much faster when someone feels safe.

When the visual system works efficiently:

Reading feels smoother.
School feels less overwhelming.
Sports feel more precise.
Recovery feels possible.

Vision therapy isn’t about perfection.
It’s about helping people live with more clarity, confidence, and control.

And that’s why we do what we do. šŸ’›

Not all concussion symptoms come from one big hit.

For many athletes, repeated ā€œminorā€ impacts can affect how the eyes and brain work together.

Headaches, light sensitivity, slower reactions, trouble focusing — these can all be signs the visual system needs support.

Optometric Multi-Sensory Training (OMST) and vision therapy help retrain the brain’s sensory pathways so athletes can feel steady, focused, and confident again.

Concussion recovery can feel frustrating and unpredictable.

Symptoms like headaches, dizziness, brain fog, and fatigue often linger longer than expected — especially when the visual system has been disrupted.

Vision therapy and Optometric Multi-Sensory Training (OMST) help retrain how the eyes and brain process
information together, supporting smoother movement, better
focus, and improved sensory balance over time.

Progress doesn’t happen all at once.
But with the right support, it does happen.

šŸ‘‰ If you or your athlete are still dealing with lingering concussion symptoms, send us a message. We’re here to help you take the next step.

In sports, we often think concussions only happen after a major collision.

But research — and clinical experience — tells us something
important:

šŸ‘‰ Repeated ā€˜minor’ hits to the head can add up over time.

Athletes may notice:
• Headaches
• Light sensitivity
• Dizziness
• Slower reaction time
• Trouble focusing
• Feeling ā€˜off’ during games or school

Optometric Multi-Sensory Training (OMST) helps retrain the brain’s sensory pathways that can be disrupted after head injuries — even when symptoms seem mild.

If an athlete doesn’t feel like themselves anymore, it’s worth looking deeper.

Many athletes keep playing after a hit because symptoms seem small — or they fade quickly.

But lingering visual symptoms can show up later as:
• Trouble focusing
• Slower processing
• Reading struggles
• Fatigue
• Feeling overwhelmed

Optometric Multi-Sensory Training (OMST) helps the brain relearn how to filter and organize sensory information — a key part of recovery after a head injury.

If something feels off, trust that instinct.

Support exists šŸ’›

Athletes train their bodies every day — but most don’t realize they can train their vision, too. šŸ‘€āš¾

Tracking the ball, reacting quickly, judging distance, and staying focused under pressure are all visual skills.

And just like strength or speed, they can be improved with the right kind of training.

If you’ve ever wondered how vision plays a role in performance (or consistency), this post is for you.

Curious if vision training could help you or your athlete? Send us a message or give us a call (770) 423-7500 — we’re happy to talk it through.

Less strain. More confidence.

Big changes that start with vision. šŸ’›

Travel athletes train hard.
Private lessons. Strength training. Extra reps.

But here’s something most parents aren’t told:

šŸ‘‰ Visual skills play a huge role in hitting, catching, throwing, and reaction time.

If your athlete struggles with:
• Missing pitches they should hit
• Late reactions
• Trouble tracking the ball
• Inconsistent performance
…it may not be effort or skill — it may be vision that needs support.

Vision therapy helps strengthen the eye-brain connection so that athletes can play with more confidence and consistency.
