Today marks 13 years since the devastating West Fertilizer Company explosion that shook the community of West, Texas. What began as a routine response to a reported fire turned into a catastrophic explosion that claimed the lives of 15 individuals, including 12 brave first responders. The impact was felt far beyond the city limits, leaving a lasting mark on families, departments, and communities across Texas.

We remember and honor the firefighters and emergency personnel who answered the call without hesitation, putting service above self. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Today, we pause to reflect, to stand with the families and departments affected, and to ensure their legacy lives on in every call we answer and every life we protect.
