This week’s Winter Around the World stop: Germany 🇩🇪 We tried our hand at homemade pretzels for the first time, and they were a delicious success! 🥨😍

At Cedarhurst of McHenry yesterday our residents had a lovely food safety class with Robert our Dining Services Director, followed by a tour of the kitchen where they were impressed by all the different spices we have available!

We really want our residents to feel at home in their community and what’s better than seeing/learning about what happens behind the scenes of each delicious meal they are served! 🍽️

And that’s a wrap on Christmas!! A visit to the mchenry festival of trees to drop of the canned goods we collected, some Christmas jokes and peppermint milkshakes, and a lovely ugly sweater Christmas party yesterday!💚❤️ The Christmas spirit was truly alive at Cedarhurst of Mchenry this month! A special thanks to all the families that made it out yesterday! 🩵

Music is one of our favorite things to enjoy together here at Cedarhurst of McHenry 🤍 Some friends from St. Mary’s Choir came to lead us in some holiday sing-alongs! It is true what they say: “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” 🎼

All of our Veterans were beyond touched by the kindness of the Second Brigade Motorcycle Club this weekend. They brought gifts and plenty of smiles to our Veterans here at Cedarhurst of McHenry❤️💚 Thank you again!! We will try to continue spreading the holiday cheer like you all did for us! ❄️

We are getting in the Christmas spirit by making gingerbread decor for outside our apartments here at Cedarhurst of McHenry!!

Our residents are looking forward to many more cozy nights in crafting this winter🩵

Stop by the McHenry Municipal Center starting tomorrow (Nov. 21) through December 29th to check out the Festival of Trees! Cedarhurst is proud to be a part of this event and support our community.

To vote for a favorite tree, bring any canned goods or toiletries and leave them under your tree of choice. All donations will go directly to Veterans Path to Hope. 🎄❤️🎅🧑‍🎄
