Them: What’s happening out there at Bridgett & Friends?

Us:
We’re building Happily-Ever- Afters🙌🏼
one woman at a time🙏🏼
one day at a time🤍
one moment at a time🤗

Through laughter, healing, growth, and grace,
we’re creating a safe space for hearts to be restored,
dreams to be reignited,
and women to remember who they are and whose they are.

Brick by brick, prayer by prayer,
we’re building something beautiful that will outlast us.
And every story matters here.

“Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.”
— Proverbs 14:1 (KJV)

It’s Wednesday — the middle of the week where motivation is working overtime 😅
Not quite at the finish line, but still showing up💪🏼🙌🏼

Here at Bridgett & Friends, the week has been productive, and we’re grateful for the progress being made one step at a time.

In your recovery journey, what helps you stay grounded and keep Jesus at the center when the week starts to feel heavy? 💛

We’d love to hear what’s been helping you lately.

We’re saying yes to the work God has put in front of us, one life at a time. 💛

Today at Bridgett&Friends, we witnessed what love in action really looks like. 💛
One brave woman took a huge step forward and received her ID — something so simple to some, but life-changing for someone rebuilding. Doors opened today. Dignity restored. Hope reignited.

Now on to the next step🙌🏼

This stopped us in our tracks at the ACRM Training Conference😳

Research backs this up.

The CDC-Kaiser ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) Study found that individuals with 4 or more ACEs are:
▪️ 7x more likely to develop alcoholism
▪️ 10x more likely to inject street drugs
▪️ 2–4x more likely to struggle with substance use overall

The connection between obesity and type 2 diabetes is well known and significant — but the statistical correlation between high ACE scores and addiction is even stronger.

Childhood trauma changes brain development, stress response systems, and coping mechanisms. Addiction is often not about rebellion — it’s about unresolved pain.

Thank you to Shannon Long for bringing this powerful truth to light at the ACRM training conference.

At Bridgett & Friends, we don’t see an addict, we see the lady and the pain in her story! And healing starts there. 🤍

✨ Featured Class at Bridgett & Friends ✨
10 Principles for Overcoming Stubborn Habits from the RU Recovery curriculum.

One of the powerful classes offered in our program is 10 Principles for Overcoming Stubborn Habits. This class is designed to wash the mind with the Word of God and help women understand how to retrain their thinking and realign their lives with truth.

Through Scripture, discussion, and discipleship, ladies begin to see the why behind addictive cycles and strongholds—and more importantly, they discover the solution found in Jesus Christ. As Romans reminds us, transformation happens by the renewing of the mind, and this class intentionally points women to the washing of the Word that brings lasting freedom.

This course equips women coming out of any addiction or stronghold to:
• Recognize unhealthy patterns
• Understand the spiritual root behind behaviors
• Learn God’s design for freedom
• Apply biblical truth to everyday life

Jesus doesn’t just forgive—He renews, restores, and teaches us how to walk differently. 🌿

This class is just one of the many Christ-centered, life-building classes offered here at Bridgett & Friends, where we believe healing is possible, freedom is promised, and transformation is found in Him.

📖 “That He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the Word.”
